I am new to property investing. Can anyone recommend any really good books/video’s etc
Ive just read a book titled “Seven Steps to Wealth” by John Fitzgerald. Being new to prop investing I found this book extremely well written and clear. Having said that the author is very pro -‘ve gearing and claims rent plus tax adv will cover int repaymnets. Not once does he even suggest this may not be the case. He also has a website http://www.wealthbuilders.com.au and it looks to me like he sells properties. Maybe its just me being cynical but i get the impression thats why he only mentions the positive side of -‘ve gearing. The book was written in 1999 so is a little out-dated which may make a difference (?). I actually emailed them a week ago but got no response.
Anyway any tips on good books would be appreciated.
Cheers

JosephJoseph,
Are you in the USA? If it’s not over there, then maybe you can order it from this site! It was definitely a good read, and inspired me to go onto greater things.
Otherwise, try some John Burley books too.

Hi
I have read John Fitzgerald’s book and he makes some important points. He has become wealthy over the years as a developer and does some great things for homeless kids on the charity side.
However I did go to one of their introductory seminars. They were initially keen to tell me about their properties for sale and take down my details but when I challenged them about the -gearing they push, their attitude changed and I never heard from them again.
As far I can see they try cater for busy professionals who want everthing down for them.
Not for me I think.
