Getting back to the old question of how much $$$ is enough and how many IPs to do it?
I would just like enough IPs to replace my current salary so as not have to work and to free up my time to do what I really want. My passion is wildlife and nature photograghy, currently a hobby I don’t have enough time for (and not a career option). It goes hand in hand with my love of adventure travel.
Look out for my book, of my 3 year adventure from 2000-2003 in Africa and the U.K., when I free up enough time to write it. Also look out for me at the markets around Melbourne in 2005 selling my pictures, again if time permits!
I will need to concentrate on my second IP before any of that happens, and third, and…
While I was away having an adventure I missed the boom and was kicking myself for not securing that apartment in Yarraville for $90k in early 2000, now worth over double that. But hey would I have even had the adventure if I’d bought? And to boot I met my dream girl while away! Money can’t buy love.
Now I happily own my first IP in Geelong and am more focused on my goals. I have received the FHOG and negotiated settlement 2 weeks after the tenant’s lease expiry, so I signed them up for one more year allowing me 2 weeks to get in myself. In which time a budget makeover and loan refinance is the plan.
Life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans.
Work to live, not live to work.
P.S. Steve, I’d love to join a MAP session.[]
