    Hi,

I am just getting my head around all this stuff.

Does anyone have property that is both negative and positive geared? That is one property that is negative geared, and another that is positive geared?

Is this a strange combination, since they both sort of cancel each other out? Or in my mind, the negative geared property is still saving you money, you are just earning more income from the positive geared property.

The reason I ask, is that I already have a negative geared property, and you really can’t buy a lot of negative geared properties before you have cash flow problems, I think. I would like to start buying positive geared properties.

My short/long term goals is 1) Pay off my PPoR, 2) Increase Income from property, and Capital Gains from investments for the future.

    Thanks,

    – Mark

    Mark,

I have +ve, _+, -ve cash flow properties in my portfolio. Yes it is kind of offset earch other out.

This is called Offset Gearing defined by Still In School (S.I.S).

If you do a search on S.I.S you will be able to find out more about offset gearing.

    Good luck.

    Warm Regards
