I know one person (who is quite vocal on these forums) who will be rubbing her hands with glee and saying the mantra ‘I told you so, I told you so’ a few dozen times!!!

Is this guy that popular that he can influence many people or does he just have a loyal following?

    Rugby,

Some of us don’t “follow” anyone. The points made by Jenman are not new ones. But the perspectives regarding the VFA’s Code of conduct are new. Either Jenman could say them or someone else could- he is not the only one with those ideas.

The posting of the URL is for newer investors to this board, who might not be familiar with discussions about wraps. Each person will make up his or her own mind about how to practice RE. Some people will scoff and denigrate Jenman- because they prefer to attack the person, not the issues. Some people won’t care what he says, and will choose to wrap anyhoo. Others might think a little before they wrap.

If I was the type who liked to follow others, I think I would take an easier path. But this forum is where Steve has said people are able to critique wraps- not in the wrapping forum, so so be it :o)

I must admit I have never pinned you as a ‘follower’. Your comments always seem to be from the heart/mind and not ‘cut and pasted’ from somewhere else.

It is interesting though that there are some people who hang off every word that is said by someone like Jenman . I agree, it is healthy to form your own opinion and I certainly do not hold one person up high as a font of all knowledge on RE.

    Sorry Steve[;)][;)][;)]

I only wish I had such a talent with sarcasism and synisism like Mr Jenman.

Although one phrase really does describe me

The draft Code of Professional Conduct developed by wrappers is typical of an attempt to put a kind face on an ogre that devours the weak and vulnerable.

… only when I get out of bed and head to the kitchen for my cuppa, don’t get in the way[}:)]

All said and done I don’t care who does or doesn’t like WRAPS, as I know that I have made a positive difference in one families life and conducted my self with integrity and ethics.

    Cheers

Well I must admit, when I 1st read about wraps in Steve’s Book, the 1st thing that went thru my mind was that its ripping people off but telling them u r doing so in a nice way.

But after reading more and talking to people and knowing how bad banks are with finance, and with full disclosure I just see it as helping people out. Hey im on a low income and I needed to take a no doc loan at a higher interest rate. I can’t hear Jenna screaming for the strugglers that have to get no doc loans. I think im paying almost 2% higher on the no doc then most would other wise. I guess its ok for banks to make record profits but not ok for creative people.[8] Why do I have to pay more? Its because I made a go of working for myself after breaking both my neck and back and wasn’t able to return to my trade. But if I were already rich, I would pay less………I wonder what Jenna would say about that? Either way im glad I got the loan from the bank, so I can make a go of something new, and I understand that the bank would see myself as a higher risk hence why charging me more. But they still have my equity either way I go so not only have to pay more but also can lose everything just like any one else ……..LOL.

Oh well im probably rambling ………….LOL. I think u all get my drift. I took the loan knowing exactly what I was getting into so its nothing more then my responsibility.

So I guess Jenman’s own code of ethics must be a sham as well…[}:)] I mean, based on his comments he must also be doing the same thing, a “sham to cover up a scam” … right ???

Sadly, another person who tries to change the world with a baseball bat….. it doesn’t work. Don’t people get it. If you want to change things, then work from within…. DUH [xx(]

I like the way in which he uses half truths…to suit his side of the tale…..

The VFA is actually registered as “Vendor Finance (WRAPS) Association Incorporated” funny how that was modified…… [:I]

I’m not going to spout more information “defending” the code of conduct. The simple fact of the matter is, it’s always better to regulate an industry (any industry) than to let it run wild and do some damage. And that is what the VFA is all about.

He conveniently forgot to mention the other documents that are neing worked on:

    1) Consumer Advice Page
    2) Comparison on Wraps vs other forms of finance
    3) The history of WRAPS/VF

As always, I stand waiting to hear what Jenman is going to DO for the so called affected people here. It’s easy to sit on one’s high horse, but I reserve comment on Jenman, until I see him actually out there HELPING PEOPLE own their own home. [?]

People may think I’m one sided on this, but I am not. My choice is to be fair to people, to be open to them, and to be honest.

I run a business, yes, it makes money, and, on top of that I get to help people. The evangelists out there seem to forget that the whole world we live in is marked up and sold to them by a business or two…. What you think that $19,990 car you drive actuall cost that much to make…. Come on folks, GET REAL PLEASE….

I don’t just do wraps, I have other property investments and I choose the appropriate strategy for the house in question.

I’m sure my best buddy Robecca will chime in any minute now, but, to be honest I won’t be responding….. I’m too busy running a business and making money, and, also ACTUALLY HELPING PEOPLE WITH MY OWN MONEY, AT MY OWN RISK….

Peace to all, ( You too Rebecca [:X] ) Let’s try and live in the real world here……

    Hi guys,

Some of you have already detected some errors and ommissions in Neil’s article but heck, Neil would never let a few extra facts get in the way of a good marketing strategy that helps position him as the RE Knight in Shining Armour!

That aside, I did think this particular line was a real “cracker”….

If that fails, the third step is develop a Code of Conduct.

I guess this means he has no documented professional standards he expects his devotees to work to.

Hmmm I actually thought professional standards (with a good dose of ethics thrown in as well) is what the Jenman System is all about.[;)]

Let’s get serious, he’s been on this for ages now and I don’t hear the wrappers saying how their business’ are collapsing due to the “nay sayers”.

Then again, if I’m wrong, wrappers who are finding it hard to do business due to articles like Neil’s could put a post up on here to educate us all.

Maybe he is doing every one a favour whose business entails wraps. U guys ever heard the saying that all publicity is good publicity? Or that there is no such thing as bad publicity?

As I said, this article was pasted mostly for newbies :o) Just so they can get some alternative ideas on things.

Jenman has one idea, and many folks on here have posted other ideas. Thanks for your comments folks- i’m all for democracy and widely held views :)
