I have been investigating the potential of “short term” rental holiday units in coastal Queensland. When I asked my mortgage broker regarding finance options he told me that the banks dont look very favourably on this type of investment. He told me that the unit must be able to be letted or there must be allowance for you to live in the unit. Otherwise the bank at best may only come in at 50% Why is it that the bank are conservative in this area? and what is the experaince of others with regard to short term holiday units?
