Hi, I desperately need to find an accountant who inderstands property investing and is genuinely interested in helping me get ahead and not just a number cruncher. I live in Penrith in Sydney. Anyone out there? Thanks.
I am will Mel on this, we use Dale GG. We libve in Melb now but next year we are moving to Syd (hills district) and we will continue to travel down to see Dale (Tax Deductable of course[])
I think this is really hard question I my self trying to find good accountant in Sydney. But you really need quickly then you can try mint group or have a look at API you will find some accountact name there. let me know if you find some one good.
We’re looking for an accountant too. Don’t want to depress you, but we’ve been looking for 3 years. Twice we’ve thought we might have found one, and both times they’ve turned out to be so overstretched that their service was very poor – we’d probably have been better off if they’d just told us to keep looking.
GST was a big issue when we started this search. I think it’s still taking up a lot of their time, and maybe it also brought in a lot of new clients? Don’t give up Scotty; maybe the gummint will leave enough things alone for two consecutive years that everyone has time to catch up.
I found a great guy. He is located at Bathurst but can do most things via email, fax and Express Post. He also seems to go to Sydney every 2 weeks or so. He is great with wraps and IP’s, etc
There’s an accountant in Sydney called Shukri Barbara, from Property Tax Specialists. I saw him do a very brief presentation at yesterday’s Wealth Creator Magazine networking club meeting, apparently he does a bit of presenting here and there. He also regularly advertises in that mag. He talked a bit about strucures for asset protection and tax minimization, he seems to be pretty clued up on accounting for IPs etc. I have never actually had any business dealings with him however, although I’m also looking for a good accountant in Sydney. Does anyone know of Shukri and have any feedback about how good he is? In case anyone is interested, he’s in Rosebery and has a website at http://www.propertytaxspecialists.com.au.
Do you mind saying how long you’ve been a client of your Bathurst accountant. Obviously a recommendation based on a few years is stronger than one based on a few weeks[]
I’m not sure whether this is appropriate, however, we are accountants in Inverell, NSW. We are heavily into property investing and advising, understand and use wraps, lease options, etc. My partner is a financial planner in the business, I am a tax accountant & we think we form a formidable team.
If anyone would like to use our services we have a website – http://www.mtpcount.com.au or you can email me [email protected]. One thing we can guarantee is that we know what we are doing re: property.
Hi scotty,
Re: still in school, you asked about his accountant. I have seen him state that he has a background in accounting, so my guess is he does his own bookwork.
Cheers,
Sue []

Hi,
Try Chris Batten (Batten and Associates) in Sydney. He is great, one of the greatest in the country – knows everything about asset protection, company, trusts structures, is very updated and creative. A very humourous man as well. I heard him lecture before in a seminar, and he’s one of the best
