[:I] My friend had a big spider tarantula or something, I did not know this until she came in to find me spraying it in her room and me triumphantly telling her that I had rescued her from the beast. [:I]
It didn’t go down to well considering she had paid extra to have the damn thing defanged!

I am terrified of spiders she knew this and hadn’t told me she had just gotten the stupid thing.

    My defence was
    1) she should have asked (my house)
    2) she should have told me chances are I wouldn’t have sprayed the beast just screamed.
    3) It should have been in its cage NOT wandering towards my lounge out of her door[:)]

She was very cool towards me for awhile[:I]

    I am terrified of spiders!

A spider in my car has almost caused me to drive off the road on more than one occasion[:I]. It involved a lot of jumping around madly waving at it to get out. Then when it vanished I wasn’t keen on getting back in!

Past pets – we used to have a rat, his name was Aussie. Or Ozzie. Not sure which. After mum initially freaked out, she was the one that spent the most time with him. He was very friendly, but did smell!

We’ve always had dogs. Used to have chihuahuas (spelling?) – little rat dogs. Then we ‘graduated’ to Jack Russells.

At our house we have Jackie, Susie, Little Cheeky, and Zac. We also have a little staffi called Chloe.
My sister has Tasha and Rhea.
My brother has Loki and a kelpie called Kelly – RSPCA dog.
My boyfirend has Sophie, Obi, Spotless (Spotty for short) and Sleepy.
My aunt has Scamper and Dina.
    My sister’s outlaws have Aggie.
Lots of them are all related. My poor baby Jackie had six puppies – thanks to my brother’s rotten dog Zac[:D].
Little Cheeky, Spotty and Sleepy were the only ones that Mum would let us keep.
I wanted to buy a farm and go live there with my girl and her babies, but [xx(] didn’t have the money!

    Cheers

    Hi there,

I have two Blue-Cream torti Burmese Pedigree cats.
They were breeding queens. Pepper is the mother (‘Siamber Chilli Pepper’ is her real name) and her daughter Squirrel (Nocturne ‘Squirrel’). Squirrel’s daughter Amy (Nocturne ‘Amy’) we sold to Japanese for breeding. We’ve had over 40 kittens bred by these beautiful creatures, to whom which I am allergic too.
I stopped breeding, when we changed their diet and the food (which was supposedly high quality) caused birth defects in the kittens [:(].
I’m allergic to many types of animals (including Lizards), but I love them all the same.

    Cheers
    Sooshie [:)]

    Hi Melbear

Have you never heard of the knife or scissors or a bubber band. One of those measures should fix that rotten little Zac from doing the dastardly deed again.

The only problem with Jack Russells is that they are too short in the leg. No good for chasing possums.
What you need is a good long legged fox terrier. Now my Oskar absolutely hates possums.

And Soohie he is not too keen on cats either, particularly the neighbours cats.

Rats are the coolest – I said goodbye to my two little guys last year – old age. Jack Sprat and Harry International Rat of Mystery. Both pedigreed, show rats – Harry with a championship under his belt – they are so cool – everyone should have such cool pocket pets – affectionate, friendly, highly intelligent, inquisitive, and lots of laughs.[:D][:)][:0)][:I][:P][:X][:O]

Hi Pinky – where are you located? If you really wnat rats, I can introduce you to the local chapter of the Aus Rodent Fanciers Society – heaps of like minded people who will help you get set up the best way for the little guys – and guy(boy) rats are in my opinion the best – much more chill than the little lady rats!!!![:P]

    Hi muppet

Rotten Zac dog got the chop along with my poor little Jackie dog almost as soon as the little puppies went to good homes! I was in Fiji at the time of the dastardly deed, having left behind a pair of pants for my little one to wear for a couple of reasons – including rotten Zac!!

My Jacko dog has loooooong legs. She can jump fences that are 1.8m high!! She’s also terrified of thunder and lightning, so the second there is any, she’s over the fence and away!! Luckily she is also OBSESSED with a tennis ball, so all you have to do is walk out into the road where she can see you, and bounce it, and she comes running. This also worked with the little ones when she ran away (although we did not bounce them!![:)]).

    Cheers

    Hi Melbear

Poor old Oskar got the snip before he could sire any pups. I have regretted that decision ever since because he turned out to be such a nice dog that I would have liked to have had one of his pups. Still never mind.

Now the poor old guy is about 13 and very nearly deaf. No wonder because when he put a possum or a cat up a tree he would spend hours barking his fool head off until I either shot the possum or rescued the cat.

Lived in the country while oeur kids were growing up and had Cowboy, Jean and Caroline the cows, Rutherford (after Margaret the actess who most will not remember) and Wilbur the pigs, lots of Pinky’s who were always sold, Steggles and Henny Penny were Bantams some 21 years ago, various other hens and roosters, ducks, cats and dogs. Currently we have Cassie a 13yo long haired Shepherd and Scamper a 15 yo ginger ex-Tom and I am Nana to Napoleon the rat and Chopper a nine week old Bull Mastill, Doberman, Staffie pup. Chopper has turned me off wanting to be a real Nana as babysitting is exhausting.

    G’day guys,

Good to see that there are a few rat owners around.

We just got one about 3 months ago and she is great. They are great pets for young kids in particular.

They a very easy to care for and supprisingly very clean. They spend all day cleaning themselves!

Previously we have been dog people. I’ve had Staffies since i was a kid (3 in all). When my 2 boys get a little older (they’re 2 & 3 at the moment) we’ll definately be getting another one.

I’ve also always wanted to get snakes, but as i’ve recently become a rat owner, this creates some moral conflicts. I’d have to find alternative food for the snakes.

Jay.. id have to say id would rather have a rat than a snake!.. Im guessing a rat bite would be no comparision to a snake bite.[B)]

We went to a pet shop, the salesperson was walking around with a rat behind her neck on her collar.. it just climbs up and settles there. [:D]

    Regards,
    Arty.

    Hi Arty,

We started breeding with “Pepper” in 1994 (I think) and we stopped in 1997. We kept ‘Pepper’ and ‘Squirrell’ (Pepper’s daughter) and they are our cats now, both neutered. ‘Amy’ is still breeding in Japan. Our cattery name is ‘Nocturne’ named for the night noises cats on call make [;)].

    I’ve always had animals.
Dogs, goats, ducks, sheep, cats, rats, guinea pigs, birds, fish, lizards, terrapins, xylotyls, crabs (the hermit type [;)]), chickens, tadpoles, possums (okay, we didn’t keep them, they kept us)
The list goes on… Although we didn’t live on a farm.

    Cheers
    Sooshie [:)]
