I can’t believe that ‘Animal House’ with John Belushi didn’t get a mention yrt. Then again, I was 17 at the time. Maybe I’d better take another look if it’s still around[]
It could be ‘A Fish Called Wanda’, but I’m not sure.
I think my brother-out-laws favourite movie is ‘Trading Places’.
I’m surprised no-ones mentioned any movies like ‘The Blues Brothers’ or ‘Blazing Saddles’ etc.
What about movies like ‘Gone with the wind’ ([:0)] let’s not interpret that title to carefully [:0)]), ‘Brigadoon’, ‘Annie’, ‘Oliver’ etc…
Am I showing my age?

I never cry at movies, yeh ice queen, however one movie really had me bawling..Bridges of Maddison County. It killed me, must have hit close to home I guess.
My favourite comedy is Geisha Boy/Girl (not sure), with Jerry Lewis. Gotta love the rabbit
Worst movie for me was Armegeddon, went to the movies with my sister and we laughed all the way through it, no-one else seemed to be laughing though…..found out later it wasn’t meant to be a comedy []

The Stepford Wives is starting up this week in cinemas- great actors in it, but apparently, it’s merely a spoof on the original version and not very edgy :o( The original Wives’ film is an absolute classic!
And Dude, Where’s my Car is one of my faves too- surprisingly good, I reckon. That’s on TV tonight- yay!
Whats my tattoo say – Dude – Sweet – Dude – Sweet – Dude – Sweet.
That guy from American Pie cracks me up. Instead of a quuer eye for the straight guy, I want to see the Stiffler version – where Stifler goes and helps people out.
yeh i like the fathers character in american pie – very funny. for those of us in our 30’s i think american pie is the modern day version of PORKIES…wch is an altimate american teenage flick up there with animal house..
‘i now announce your fraternity name as ….flounder..’
Yeah, DWMC surprised me in a big way. I expected it to be another of those yawny teen mainstream films, but it’s got so much going for it. That Chinese takeout mind games scene is sooo good! and some of the fetish gear in the film- oh yum I didn’t watch it in its entirely last time, but when I started watching it, I couldn’t remove myself from it.
Some old films I love:
The longest trailer. lucille ball and dessie arnaz – fuuuuuunny!
Guess who’s coming to dinner. Poitier’s fabulous and Hepburn and Tracy so coy
Whatever happened to baby jane? Joan crawford at her psycho best, and bette davis tumbling down the stairs. Riveting stuff I read a review about it and it said it was “the film that launched a thousand drag queens”. hehe.
There are heaps of good movies, but to list a few favourites:
Of more recent times I’d say Shrek, Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill, Chicago, Moulin Rouge (I love good musicals), and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
For older movies the list is pretty big, but say Butch Cassidy & Sundance, The Sting, The Good/Bad/Ugly, 2001 Space odyssey, Clockwork Orange, Rocky Horror, Cabaret, Casablanca, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf, American Graffiti, and of course Monty Python’s Holy Grail and Life of Brian!
Yeah I like many of the movies mentioned, but what about the old Blues Brothers movie- it cracks me up!
Especially the scene where they have this gig on a stage where they are protected by some wire gate, and people keep throwing bottles and crap at them… awww funny![lmao]
What about ‘Best in Show’ the guy with the two left feet, I’m laughing uncontrolably just thinking about it…

Hi all,
Speaking of movies. Today I saw Michael Moore’s ‘Farenheit 9/11’. If anyone else has seen it, I’d be interested in your feedback on how the doco was portrayed and your feedback on it?
Cheers,
Gatsby!
