thought you might be interested in this. it seems pretty good value!!!
    (quoting from page)

Ever had a problem with rents not being paid, tenant disappearing or damage to your property? Well, this is not a cost you need to bear any longer!
At last, a protection plan written specifically for you, the residential property investor.
Regardless of the rent (up to $500 per week) the annual premium remains the same @$282.50 plus GST. That’s about $4.10 per week after tax has been deducted!! You can’t afford not to protect your investment. Also available House & RENTSURE package policies with discounts applying.
    How to pay?

Annually, basically any method you like including: Mastercard, Visa, American Express. cheque and cash accepted also. Monthly payment also available on request.

    What’s Covered?
    * Malicious Damage or Theft by the Tenants.
Up to $25,000 with excess $500. (replacement value; up to 10 years)
    * Loss of Rents following the tenant vacating without giving the required notice
Up to 6 weeks rent with excess $250.
    * Loss of Rents due to the eviction of a tenant for non-payment of Rent.
Up to 12 weeks rent with excess $250.
    * Loss of Rents due to Prevention of Access.
Up to 6 weeks rent with excess $250.
    * Legal Liability as a Landlord.
Up to $1,000,000 for property damage with excess $250.
    * Premises left untenantable as a result of a claim under section1.
Limit 52 weeks rent with excess $250

Maximum excess any 1 claim even if claiming under more than 1 section is $500 & the bond remains the Landlords !
THAT’S RIGHT, YOU GET TO KEEP YOUR BOND!

ÊAll you need to do to be eligible for RENTSURE Property & Income Protection for Landlords is:

    * Select your tenants carefully and obtain a reference (written or oral).
    * Collect at least 2 weeks Bond & 1 weeks rent in advance (or any other combination totaling 3 weeks)
    * Complete property inspections at least 6 monthly.
    * Send a letter to the tenants when rent is 14 days in arrears.
    * Make application to the Tenancy Tribunal for vacant possession at 21 days in arrears (in accordance with the Residential Tenancies Act).
    * Have a current House Insurance (and contents where applicable) policy covering the property insured.

It’s that simple! In fact if you are currently using a Professional Property Manager then you will probably find these items are already being taken care of for you.

    Well done Mini!

I had done some quick searching on rental policies like this one in NZ without much luck. I’m also starting to think about a checklist of issues for selecting a property manager in NZ. The rules here may help in filtering some managers out…

    Regards, Neill

    Hello All !

We looked at rentsure but went with http://www.tower.co.nz/ they seem to cheaper and cover more. My thoughts only. It interesting to note that rentsure and tower are the only ones around offering landlords insurance. Anyone found another?

    best regards
