I have been well and the sun in Sydney has been great.
OK, down to business.
I am trying find out the hidden costs like Body Corporate etc, associated with Multiple Residence properties.
If anyone has any info on ongoing costs involved with living in the type’s of dwellings listed below please let me know.
– Townhouse
– Duplex
– Villa
– Unit

(American History X)Hi Teylu – we have a duplex and several units. I feel Duplexes are preferable as units involve Body Corporates fees. These fees are roughly the same as local government rates (at least where we are) – I really wonder why Body Corporate Admin fees are so high.
If you have a duplex you arrange building insurance yourself but I’d rather do that than pay Body Corporate fees – you feel like you’re more in control. Our duplex is pretty new and we haven’t had any maintenance problems.
The other benefit of a duplex is you own the land as well (or at least your bank does!).

(American History X)I have a duplex in a complex. Body Corp about $2,400 (admin + sinking) per year! Have to pay to keep the tenant happy in the pool and gym and BBQ and tennis court etc [
