Well I think I am only the second real estate agent here. I think we are all too busy showing properties to all the investors out there. I am new to this website since buying Steve’s book. Great book and it has thrown a new light on my plans for property investing. I hope to be in touch with you all on a regular basis here.
Ive been investing in property for a few years, but because it was mainly on a negative gearing basis Ive been wondering until recently how I was ever supposed to stop working and reep the rewards!
Now im focussed – Cashflow positive property. Ive sold off almost all of the neg. ones!
Ive also been doing some more active property investing (small scale developing) as it’s the easiest way Ive found to extract $ from property in the Sydney market. Im current project is 6 townhouses on 2 blocks in the Dundas Valley.
Great to hear all your stories!
I havent been a ‘net forum’ person but this one is terrific.

Must be an IT thing, also in IT! (and doing law part time so go for it Lawry)
My thoughts so far – think people are going a bit crazy esp ones who buy places sight unseen…looked at some in the country that seemed fabulous online but turned out to be complete bulldoze jobs! The agent was saying he refuses to sell to people who wont look at them first!
I’m a mortgage consultant specialising in finance for heavily rent-reliant purchases – I am actually accredited with all of the Banks but have lately been concentrating on getting some of the tougher deals through.
On top of that am doing the married with 3 kids gig and loving it![:X]
I work as a PA in industrial relations in a Government department by day and I also am a Creative Memories instructor which is a great home based business in the direct selling industry. This is now providing us with an excellent second stream of income which we can use for IPs and shares. Hubby is in IT (yes another one) and we currently have 2 IPs – cash flow positive but not to Steve’s standard. I am currently reading his book- it certainly is a great read!
I have also enjoyed “meeting” every one on this forum – and I too am VERY impressed by hearing of the drive of so many young people.
I am nearer 60 than 50 and love my life!!

Worked as a pilot up until 6 months ago. The work was absolutely awesome, although the people terrible.
Terrible enough that I left flying and fast-talked my way into starting my own financing company.
I don’t have any IPs yet, although my mind is soaking up all the information at an incredible rate, so fingers crossed for the first one this year!
My wife and I are both currently teaching English in Japan…not much different to factory work really…bring em in, process them and send them out…NEXT! [xx(]
We are most recently from Brisbane but were both born in NSW. My wife started the whole “make money work for you” thing with Rich Dad Poor Dad (aint he got a lot to answer for[]). Then it was a seminar here and a seminar there…then it was on and on…and on about investing! Helped along with some serious job dis-satifaction I finally came on board and now I keep her up at night…talking about PI’s []. That is the whole purpose of the last 18 mths in Japan…MONEY for DEPOSITS![^]
We haven’t yet purchased our first property, but have two offers on the go…so WON’T BE LONG NOW!!![]…so, captain Mark, you better get a wriggle on mate []
Stay hungry everyone and don’t lose your grip on the dream that has brought you this far. Enjoyed reading about your journeys.
I’m a Business Analyst for one of the largest global multinationals in the world. Lover of real estate, and ironically working in a section that deals with a lot of commercial real estate buying, selling & development, so fate has landed me a bearable salaried position while I try & grow my wealth via business & real estate opportunities.
I am getting more convinced by the day that Australia has close to the best quality-to-price value ratios for real estate in the world…I hope to buy quality cash-flow properties and never sell them, because as the world becomes smaller, the greatest property rush in Australia (& NZ) is yet to begin.
I’ve been in customer service for 7 years. Before that Public service 3 years, and before that Building Industry 4 years. I should have stayed in the building industry, more opportunities for property investment…and passive income!!![]
How can I contact you?
I’d like to hear about your law studies. [email protected]

Very much a newbie to this great site!!
I’m a Doctor in Qld. Like many, there isn’t a lot of cash in Medicine anymore [] and I’m looking elsewhere to secure my income stream.
Are you a specialist?
GPs are needed everywhere isn’t it?
You should be quite cashed up.

Still working in the Public system. Only been registered for 3 years, but I do want to specialise eventually. Unfortunately it’s getting harder and harder to specialise, and GP remuneration (after expenses!) is a joke.
My family and friends keep on telling how much money Doctors make……. so far I haven’t seen any of it. Nurses get paid more than me!!
Anyway, Arty is right. We are here to seek FREEDOM!!!

Nope, not joking. As a Senior House Officer in the public system I get paid the princely sum of $50,000. Sure, it gets bumped up a bit with overtime, but there’s plenty more lucrative jobs out there.
Here’s hoping positive cashflow properties can bring me above the Nurses wages []
