I have thought about these too, although the price of the properties are usually quite high. That is for me, with limited equity to use for deposit and fees.

I would also be interested in hearing peoples opinions. Is there something specific you look for in terms of infrastructure in these rural areas.

The GEHA leases are where the government leases the properites when relocating teachers or police families to regional areas.

    Hi All,

GEHA stands for Govt Employees Housing Assoc.

It is the term used for properties that are owned by the govt, usually State Govt, and houses people whom are public servants working in regional centres.

I’m not sure on the value/purchase of these properties i.e whether there is a premium to pay because you can have a long term tennant and maintenance taken care of for you by the govt. I know that the govt periodically sells their older places off, just like a normal vendor.

    Hope this helps.

Every little bit of info helps,
(or is it that every little bit of info makes it more confusing!!)
