I’m looking for a good, no, a GREAT accountant in Perth. Preferably someone who is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about property investing and is also able to advise me how to best structure my assets. ie discretionary trust? It would also be nice if the accountant’s fees are reasonable.
Looking through past posts, there has been a couple of recommendations.
– Ken Tatem of Advanced Tax Consultants
– [email protected]
Has anyone tried these guys and can confirm that they’re the ones to go with? Or are there any other recommendations?
Really appreciate your opinions!
This is a great site!
I am actually the person that recommended Ken Tatam. He is the father of one of my best friends and is an absolute gun when it comes to accounting and taxation. He used to be in a large accounting firm beside heading out to start his own one which is in the Churchlands area. A very hard working and intelligent person (and very nice) he has spoken at a number of conferences overseas. As for being enthusiastic about property, I couldn’t really tell you, however as I said he is extremely good at Taxation and structures, so I can only assume that he just as knowledgeable on property as a vehicle.
P.S – There is no fee for the first meeting.
Regards,
Brett []

Bert of FS Professional Partners will be of help to you. He specialises in property investments, and is located on the coner of scarborough beach road and charles street.
On Bretts recommendation I used LLew Enynon from Eynon Business Consultants – yes he is a JET! Lllew invests heavily in property himself (millions $) and is a gun when it comes to structures. He Set up a company and trust structure for me and spent hours with me explaining all the benefits etc. He is well worth the money!!! just say Dan from GEIKO Investments Pty LTY referred you and he will give you a good deal.
For the benefit of people who read this in the future, i thought i’d feedback on the accountants i spoke with.
Firstly i couldn’t contact Enynon. His business doesn’t seem to be in the phone book so i tried the email in the original thread recommending him. (ie bigpond not bOgpond as in my first post ) No reply so far and its been a couple of weeks.
Ken Tatam is a nice guy and seems knowledgable enough. He does offer a free first meeting and is happy to offer advice during that meeting. My husband and i felt comfortable with him and will be using him as our accountant.
After seeing Ken and another accountant recommended by someone else, we decided on Ken and didn’t go ahead to meet Bert. However on the phone Bert sounded nice and knowledgable. He offered only a half hour free first meeting after i asked him.
Ok hope that helps future accountant hunters.
Jeanne
