Lovely meeting you Felicity [], pity we didn’t have more time to chat []
Apart from my sore arm which Steve kept nudging through the seminar and drawing bunny rabbits, fish and snakes ([])…. it was worth attending for 3 reasons.
1) The negative gearing as Felicity said, was a good example.
2) The belief that you can do something if you put your mind to it, and there is no such thing as LUCK.
3) The Pyramid, as Steve said, was interesting model.
The rest was just waffle, filler or whatever you can get out of books.
235 properties in 14 years. Background in psychology…which he made another good point which is to keep a investing journal. I’m going to start that now…in fact already have. This way you can see what you’ve done, the mistakes the good things and make sure you don’t repeat the mistakes and just repeat the good things.
Was it worth the $80 (babysitting fee)? Yep, because afterwards, the most important question of the day, by far, was Steve’s question about Mike’s hair…is it a toupee? [:0)] Answer NO.
I think the part I liked best was the advice given to me at the end. NIKE! []
I’ve had lots to think about today. So I’m thinking. Anyone who gets you to think, must be doing some good.
I actually thought that the comment of Australians biggest killer disease called “Shilby Wright’s Disease” was a good call.
Some other very interesting points as others have already mentioned. The rest was a sales push to enrol people in the 3 day course.
I need to be teased with a lot more information to entice me to go to the Sunshine Coast.
Mannie.
“It’s too late to go back and make a brand new start, but from today you make a brand new end”.
Hi Joe,
Thanks for the feedback on MY’s course.
Of heard various thingsd about it, so it’s good to hear something direct from an attendee.
Dale Gatherum-Goss is an amazing accountant and very generous with his time. I’ve also got “Tax Battles” and his new one “Trust Magic” which are both very informative. Dale also helps moderate the “Accounting & Tax” section on Jan Somer’s forum at: http://www.somersoft.com/forums/
So if you want some good advice from an accountant, check it out and post away.
So i guess all those that attended Peter Flanagan’s seminar went to the Sunshine Coast for it?
Would anyone mind elaborating on what he actually says about neg gearing being a big mistake and very risky?
Felicity, what will you be practising and repeating to your friends?
If anyone wanted to go to Peter Flanagans information session (free but worth $89???) and couldn’t. I have 2 passes, which were sent to me,each entitling 2 people to go. So if you’re curious… let me know and I’ll get them to you. He obviously didn’t make his quota for the seminar, so he’s going at it again on the 17th of June.
Let me know if you are interested.
First come first served.
Id like to go, it would be my first investment seminar, since I missed out on Steve’s. Can I pass details via email – or if youd like to email me on [email protected]
I attended Flanagan’s midday Canberra seminar Tuesday last. He quoted the jargon often used, is a likeable salesman and has learnt how to keep you wanting more. In his defense, he is proof in the making. Think big.
When he offered the “friend for free” (i.e. go halves with a mate), I asked the room “Who want’s to go halves?” I got smiles from 3 lovely ladies, but no one jumping at the chance.
Needless to say, I equated the cost to LMI and a fair percentage toward a deposit on my next PI, or maintaining a positive balance in the off-set account against my existing mortgage.
To be fair, I would happily spend 4 days learning from a multi-millionaire had my cashflow been adequate.
I have received an invite to attend a seminar by Peter Flanagan. He claims to own 235 investment property worth millions.
Does anyone know anything about him – and if you do is his seminar worth going to[?]

I went to a free 2 hour seminar in Brisbane last thursday & enjoyed it. It was different to others i have attended in that he did’nt have a question time. Unlike seminars by Margaret lomas or Peter Flanagan. But it is all education & gives u more confidence to apply there criteria
to your personal goals.
