Old couple next door managing units

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts about ‘non-registered’ people managing their units. Currently, I have the local real estate managing my units, however they seem to be doing a pretty shotty job. After 2 months, I still have 2/5 maybe 3/5 units vacant. There is an old couple next door which are maintaining my set of units and they are also maintaining and managing two other blocks of units. They seem to know most of what is going on, since the live next door and like a bit of a sticky beak and they seem to be managing their units quite well (vacancy rate is definately lower).

I am tempted to let them manage my units also, however, am worried about things like termination notices and other facilities that real estates have that they might not have access to.

Does anyone have any experiance with this sort of thing or any advice?
