Have a wonderful Christmas with your family. Looks like our phone call that we keep gonna do, will have to wait another week or two more!! Perhaps we can change our phone call to a pub tea in the New Year or something !! []
The MAP program is still ongoing. It is taking lots of commitment and is constantly challenging everyone involved!
Perhaps Today Tonight has died down a bit (for a while), because the people on the MAP may not want the rest of Australia constantly knowing their very personal business. There is enough pressure without the added stress of being seen across Australia. It is a personal journey for all involved. There will definately be some great successes, and some great disappointments. That’s life. []
Everyone on the MAP is networking well with the other MAP participants. The group is helping & challenging eachother in many ways. That is what makes the MAP so special.
Steve & Dave are fantastic with their guidance, and we all respect them so much, for making the decisions that they have.
Whether or not I make it to the end of the MAP, (due to whatever reason) I am greatful for the wonderful opportunity. I think that each person who started on the MAP journey is a success, whether or not they achieve their goal at the end. Each person is learning a lot about themselves, sometimes “they themselves” are their own biggest hurdles.
Long time no chat!! I have been very busy with our business, and other committments, and so haven’t posted much lately. It’s hard, but you have to get your priorities right!
I think that you especially do a wonderful job as a moderator. I also believe that you need special skills to be a “GOOD” moderator. You are very kind and caring and always are trying to find positives in sometimes very negative posts.
Thanks for taking the time to keep this place alive… I appreciate it.
I’ll be back soon again on a regular basis when things calm down a bit.
Sounds like you are having a really tough time. I sincerely hope that things work out for you.
However, I believe you should have asked permission from [email protected] before you leave your contact details asking strangers for money.
It’s sad that there are a LOT of scammers out there, with real sob stories. I’m sure yours isn’t one of those, but going thru the correct channels is only polite.
Ever since you joined this forum, you reminded me a bit of my father, he has a similiar “bull at a red rag attitude”, which is fine, (but not if you’re his daughter, sometimes).[]
Then I found out that you had served in the Army in Vietnam. I could tell where the resembelence comes from. My father was a life long Army man also, a bit before your time. He served in Malaysia etc. He is now retired of course, however, he still works tirelessly for his local RSL Club, and tries to help all of his mates and their families.
I can see that you have a lot of fond memories, of your true friends, some still here, some probably long gone.
I also served in the WRAAC, but it was just a game for me. Never left Australia. (THANK GOODNESS). However, I do now share the feeling of pride, of our Australian soldiers achievements.
This probably doesn’t make much sense to most people, but as Bill said, “it’s all about people”.
I for one am very bored with this whole thing and would like people to make up their minds whether they are in or out. There has been enough said on this matter.
If they are in – GET OVER IT!! (PLEASE) []
If they are out – MOVE ON!!! (THANKYOU) []
Personally, I can understand that Bill is feeling battered. However, people with such vocal opinions should be prepared for a bit of flack. If they don’t like what they get back, then make a decision. (see above)
Don’t keep going over this stuff – PLEASE..
I for one am here for the learning. There has not been much of that on this forum in the last few days. Just C R A P. This forum is not a chat room.
Please – we are all adults – let’s start acting like that.
We had a nice house (farm) and just sold it so that we can rent !!![:0)] It finally settles this Friday – YAY []
We wanted to get rid of our Line of Credit, and invest in a safer way, but in a big way. We have owned our own home for a few years now, and the novelty has all worn off!!
We are excited to be renting again, and let someone else pay the rates! []
Nobody else can make this decision for you because it is a lifestyle vs. investments.
It took us about 7 months to make up our minds, but when we did, it was like a light had just gone on AND STAYED ON… The decision was right for us.
I hope you can make the right decision for YOU and your circumstances.[]
I understand what you are saying, but basically that is what the General Investing forum is for.
There are a lot of very knowledgable forumites out there who have a lot of experience to pass on.
**I know they are not accountants, and so it is up to you if you take their advice, but sometimes they can give you a reasonable understanding of a topic, then you could discuss with your own accountant in full.
Personally I think that a GOOD property manager earns every cent.
If you only intend to have 1 or 2 properties, then maybe go for it, but if you intend on building a portfolio, my advice is leave it all up the the experts. You get bogged down with bookkeeping as it is, without the added burden of collecting the money on time, and knowing all about the laws.
Of course there are some pretty average Propety Managers out there, so definately shop around, but I don’t have the time now to manage them myself.
