    Hi all

    wow what an interesting thread.

    Mini you are once again so perceptive. It’s like some are hanging out to see others fail. i’m with you i’d love to see success. I’d love to see all of you do well. But Hey isn’t that why we are here to help and learn.
    It sounds for a few that the dream of financial freedom through property is starting to fall apart and you are looking for someone to blame. So you pick on Steve. Steve’s strategy still works. It worked in the past it works now and it will in the future. Sometimes the startegy is easy (like the year i started in 1997 till early this year), sometimes it is harder (like now in Australia). The problem is not with the stategy. The difficulty is making it happen right now. The funny thing is it’s when everyone stops looking for property as the way to financial freedom, suddenly it will become it again.
    I agree with AD, it’s good to have an understanding of all markets not just property.

    But

    once the announcements are made, suddenly the locals start to smile and walk proud and spend. they get confident and start to buy investment properties, then investors move in and do the same, suddenly the prices take off. Then everyone all the hopefulls arrive and pay 20% above asking price and Richmond and Mark go (beauty).[^]
    and then they retire and come and visit me in NZ [:D]
    so it all turns out good in the end.

    this strategy of finding good developments and buying in the area has in the last few years been one of my strategies and so far it has worked really well. I know how you feel, i don’t own in the area but i’ll join you for the fun go rocky.

    Hi richmond

    i thought the Mag smelter was a dead duck, with cost blow outs, Magnesium international has struggled to get finance, so the project is unlikely to go ahead. At least thats what i thought the situation was afew months ago have things changed ?

    i agree with richmond

    i’m sure a US base will have a huge impact on a local economy, it would be a good bet that those who own in the area it happens in (if it does) will go well.
    Personally i’d move out the idea of 5000 servicemen from the states excites me about as much as piles.

    Boy this was completely counter productive, i started out trying to get mini’s post up and look what happened.[:(] since i started the tread can i delete it ?? and if i do does everyone loose there posting numbers for this thread.[:p]
