Somersoft forum has a pretty good chat room. Always someone about willing to chat about almost anything…
Use mIRC or use the chatroom link in the forum home page…
“Welcome to the Investment Property Chatroom (#ipchat), watto!
When you enter the chatroom, you will be identified using your preferred nickname: watto.
If you want to change your preference you need to edit your profile (in the user control panel).
At the bottom of the page in the “Additional Information” section, you can enter your preferred nickname in the “Chat Nickname:” field. Hit the “Submit Modifications” button to save your changes.
You can use your forum nickname if you wish, or you can choose a totally new name.
Alternatively you can change it temporarily once you are in the chat using the /nick command.
By entering the information into your profile, you won’t need to change it every time you enter the chatroom.
For example, once in the chatroom, to change your nickname to stuart, you would type:
/nick stuart
When you enter the chatroom, if your nickname is already taken, you will be assigned a random nickname that may look something like “s15678”, you should use the /nick command to choose a new nickname.
Note: To use this chat feature you must be using a Java enabled browser such as Netscape Navigator 3.0 (or higher) or Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0 (or higher).
The first time you use the chat software on your machine, you will be asked for permission to install and run it. Please grant the permission when the pop up window appears from Netscape or IE. The window will say something similar to: “Do you want to install and run “jIRC applet” signed on 15/02/2002 6:29PM and distributed by: JPilot Software Company”… you MUST click on “yes” to allow the chat to work !
You can also access the #ipchat channel with any IRC client. Just point it to irc.blitzed.org:6667 and join the #ipchat channel. You can download an IRC client from http://www.mirc.com/. “
Its not quite as simple as suggested….things to consider are fire ratings between dwellings, possibly fire escapes depending on state plus lots of other things…
Good luck its well worth the effort to find out what can be done.
Congratulations on the book release. Looking forward to having a read.
Could u just clarify the special offer for online orders…
“Special Offer
Demand for this book is understandably expected to be huge, and the only place where you are guaranteed to get a copy that’s shipped the next working day after your order is here at http://www.PropertyInvesting.com
Furthermore, as a very special offer in the first month of release, we’ll waiver the normal handling fee and pay the postage on your behalf. That means you can have a book shipped from our office on usually the same day as your order for the low price of $29.95.
Lastly, as a real bonus, the first 100 orders filled will receive a personalised signed copy.”
In the above u offer to cover the cost of postage, the shopping cart shows the books value at $20.00 and P&H @ $9.95, when i goto the check out it wants the full price of $29.95????

March Melb MSN group meeting – Michael Yardney guest speaker (post #1)
Folks,
Michael Yardney of Metropole Properties has agreed to come along as our guest speaker for our next Melbourne MSN meeting to be held at Swinburne… we intend to run the next meeting on Thursday the 20th of March, (at Swinburne – Hawthorn)
Michael suggested he could talk to us about :
1. How to choose a top performing investment property
2. How to avoid the biggest mistakes made by investors
3. How to avoid the biggest mistakes made by landlords
Due to his development background, I would also suggest we ask him to briefly cover subdivisions/development, but I know we will be limitted to time… if you have any other suggestions (keeping in mind that we only have a max of 3hrs to cover this in) feel free to give me some feedback…
Note: these are free meetings (no cost) consisting of forum members from both the Somersoft & MSN forums…
