Comming in on the tail end….

When we started off (newly weds) we decided to not take a loan for our PPOR.Later we built it from scratch, cost us around $80,000 building over 3 years and living in a caravan with 4 kids (wonderful memories). Any way 4 years down the track house worth about $350,000 and we are off to see the Bank manager….

Suggestion ( and i know it’s hard):look for alternatives when acquiring your PPOR, starting off with a big ‘non tax deductable’ loan and then trying to find money to invest, I think, is more difficult.[thumbsupanim]

Jaffa you are rocking my world…

Do you think the stamp duty calc should include the Loan amount and the price of the house so you get the total SD payable. Just a thought to save from flicking screens.

    Just a thought

Stop playing games you little devil…

What constitutes work, and can a 12 month old be considered an employee, and can a trust fund have employees. If I have to read another book, i’ll then be awake for 23.5 hours in the day….[sleepyanim]

Pisces, when paying $150.00 pw rent,(in say a suburb of Melbourne) your basically in a fairly ordinary house. You are then paid rent assistance (if you qualify) on a percentage of that figure. With the LO, for the same ordinary house you’ll be paying possibly $200.00, so your rental assisance will be higher , but instead of pissing your money away , you’re trickling it into somebody’s pocket at the governments expense to ultimately own you house anyway…
    I can’t decide…

Do you think this is fudging the system ?
Also the exchanging of ‘contracts’ and consequently claiming the FHOG might alert the powers that be that there was a whole lot more goin’ orn than just renting….

I found Rick being moulded by the PR juggernaut quiet interesting. Do others feel that a bloke in a $4000 suit driving a flash Merc has more ceredibility than a bloke in $600 suit driving a 2000 Commerdore. Us Ozzies aren’t that fickle are we ?
Or is there something more to it.

Overall the segment was quite inspiring….

Say all does not go well in the first wrap deal, and $6,600 is not made. Are the costs involved with setting up the deal re-funded also.
