i thought that might have been the case.

employee benifits fund/special purpose fund is some thing that i have seen ian daily talk about as far as i know it is just a trust with the employees of the company named as benificarys.

for all us newbies can you please also explain the cons of this company/ trust structure. everyone always seems to spruke the pros but never the cons.

    hi lambchop

i am new to this site and property investing but i think that you should be talking to your partner about the implications of being posted to the albury area in terms of RA and the army making you live in the property that you own rather that providing you with a housing solution, i am in the defence also and am currently looking at these implacations and structures to get around the problem (trust company ect) to remain in receipt of RA but still be able to invest in property in the area i am posted.

sorry i cant help on the area even tho i was posted there for 18 months i wasnt realy intrested in property at the time.

    hope this helps

Firstly I am also new to this forum and would first like to say thankyou to every one who contributes good bad or ugly because i learn something new every time i read any post on this site even if it is just how some peoples views differ on a issue.

I am another of the 20 somethings (22 y/o) and i aspire to and i am currently working towards retiring at 35, i have watched my whole life as my dad slaved away at his job consistantly being the leading salesman in his company year after year and commended on his efforts working for the man. He is now 62 and still working full time not by choice but because he still dosnt own hes own home.
Admitidadly he has given everything for us kids ( myself, 2 brothers and 1 sister) and if he had invested instead of spend he might be in a different position.

My main motivation in investing is to not have to work past 35y/o and be around to see my kids grow up being able to do anything that my kids want to do with me there to see it.

I dont see why anyone would willingly still be working any longer than the have to unless they love what they do.

I personaly have one of the most secure jobs in the country and infact would have to try extreemly hard to get myself fired even then they would probly still keep me but i cant wait till the day i 'retire' and dont have to listen to someone elses ideas of why i should be working and making them rich/look good.

Basicaly why work when i could live the same or better lifestyle and have the freedom to chose what, when and where i spend my time doing whatever i please instead of being chained to a job.

    just my two cents

    Wal
