Funny that all people think about is bushfires….

I have purchased in Upwey. The attractions are the fundamental things – close to railway line, shopping (Knox City 10 mins), schools etc. The areas close to Burwood Hwy have good infrastructure.

Ferny Creek was my pick of the areas, but expensive, so settled on it’s neighbour. I wouldn’t purchase ‘deep’ in the mountains. Access is limited & that’s what scares some people about bushfires.

Nkibel is 100% correct about Emerald & Cockatoo. These are feral areas. Apologies to any residents but these areas are really hillbilly. Emerald as a town will die shortly now that Chris & Marie’s plant farm is gone. There is no reason for people to go there.

One other thought is about the ‘hills change’ that is occurring. With seaside property out of reach, the hills retreat is becoming popular again.
