Hi Nigel, Jay, and Engelo
At various times I have spoken with all of you about investing in Australia and/or the USA. Presently, I am in the process of selling the property I have in the USA. The USA property was purchased in Atlanta,2010. I think there will be capital gains to be had. However, as mentioned previously by Jay the money lost due to poor choice of rental managers and being taken for a ride (Corey Fuller!!), the end result won’t be as great as first hoped.
I wanted to know if any of you are involved in aiding the sale of USA property, which is what I am seeking to do (perhaps others may also be looking to seek your advice/services in this capacity). The property I have is tenanted and now well maintained / managed?
Kind Regards,
Col Brown
Hi Gutted,
I just received an email from the Better Business Bureau and they have indicated that the complaint I made could not be pursued because the complaint could not be delivered or the business no longer exists!! Seems like an easy way to escape any accountability for wrong doing.
I'll keep you up dated on how things go with the local authorities in Atlanta when I get there. Given I have false receipts that includes a bank receipt I will see if any criminal charge can be laid relating to fraud.
Hi there,
I thought I should provide an update on what has been happening, and also to say thank you for your posts – I was certainly disgruntled by what had happened to me and see others have also been negatively affected by the same person and company, but more so that there are companies and people who will assist and seek to develop good business relationships in Atlanta.
Corey Fuller did make contact and advise me that payment for rent that had been received should be in my account by the 17th November. No money has been deposited into the account thus far.
If anyone is interested I did come across this blog: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389×4701983
I am heading across to Atlanta in December and in the process of lodging complaints with the Better Business Bureau and Georgia Real Estate Commission.

I know its not the right post/topic but I am interested in buying in Atlanta and I would like to know which agent did you use (if any), what property management company are you using and what is your experience so far..
Thanks in advance!!
Casahunter; I went through 888 RealEstate for the purchase process. I found that they were helpful in the whole process – very good with communication and providing insight into the purchasing process in the US. You do pay for their service but I think it was worth paying, particularly given I had no experience.
Bank Account with Wells Fargo; North Atlanta Law for the LLC and contract review if you require (I didn’t use for the contract review); Key Property Management.I have had an issue with the property management, which I think was due to the property purchased already having a tenant managed by a different management group. Changing property management caused confusion and misunderstanding, which is still being addressed and stresses the importance of great communication when dealing with real estate overseas (or with anything really). I am in the second month of ownership and the tenant was not parting with this months rent because they don’t know what is happening and who should be getting the rent (what i am being told).
That’s where I am at and my experience thus far.
Hi Engelo,
I’d be interested in catching up. I’ve just purchased a property in Atlanta and would like to know what others are doing to build their portfolio / methods implemented to secure properties.
Mike thanks for the great property profile. First time I have every accessed such information and was very impressed.
