I only have one -ve geared property at the moment so am a long way off financial independence also.
I need to work out a plan as well so it may be a while before I am free of the “restraints” of working life!

*No time
*Not enough knowledge(yet)
*No support (well maybe only a little)
In short I am thoroughly confused about investing at the moment and so am doing my homework first, getting ideas and creating a network from whom I can gather help in my journey.
Hopefully soon I will be able to get into action.

This is an interesting thread! I dont think I would be able to sell parts of my pysical aura to make money regardless of the price!
I have been trying to think of new ideas people will pay money for ie new products/inventions like the juice bars that are taking off.
If I could create and run my own empire that would be great, as I LOVE to keep busy and be challenged so anything that fulfils those criteria would be excellent.
The only trouble is everytime i think of something someone else has beaten me to it!
Maybe I could rent out my animals?[confused2]

I think I would like my weekly passive income to be at least $2000 this would enable me to do all the things I dream of.
As for how many houses? I think I’d need about 25 houses maybe more.
I havent exactly worked out a strategy yet for achieving this as I am still gaining all the knowledge i can in order to make it happen.
I dont think being rich will make me happier just free to choose!
Happiness is a state of being inside the body, regardless of what is happening outside – ie we control happy thoughts![biggrin]

I must confess [blush2] I occasionally get the “retail therapy” bug, and when I do, look out!!!
My most recent splurge was a professional timber bar (the kind that has the place to hang your wine glasses, beer tap etc)
which I think was a bargain at $1000.Im not really a person who buys coffee every day, I save it up and then whammo! spend it all on something big!
I think of these as better than a few bought coffees as my purchases give me lasting enjoyment.

I do love going out for coffee or dinner with my friends though and try to do that at least every fortnight.
What do I work hard for? So I can play hard as well[biggrin]
I manage the finances in my house too, so I do know how to take care of money its not always the women who are expensive to run!
Geo if I bought a vanilla slice everytime I walked past a shop I would be extremely unwell!

I personally also think some sort of mentoring is a good idea, as finding your way can be pretty hard work and scary, especially if you are a baby investor [baby] like me!
I am always welcoming good advice although sometimes I find it hard to tell whats good and whats not!
Finding a knowledgable person who would like to help is my idea of mentoring (like a trusted friend) not a company who tries to sell you its products and make themselves rich ( I have learnt this the hard way)

When Im not working at the Library (I LOVE my job)
I’m landscaping our backyard (Cert in Horticulture and Landscape Gardening), and generally enjoying my garden, having Cocktail Parties (with the help of my new bar) fine dining and going out for coffee with friends (I’d like to have more time to do this!) looking after the menagerie (chooks,cats, dog etc)
I seem to be obsessed with PI at the moment though!

Sounds like you have a lot of support round you when you need it most, its unfortunate you lost your wallet (frightening feeling[anxious])
but think of the benefits this challenge has brought you – love and support, a better memory (we hope?[biggrin]) and new found friends.To quote a song I like “Cant you see, lifes easy, when you consider things from another point of view”
and “what goes around, comes around” the person who took your wallet will have ruined his Karma thats for sure.
