Hmm, I would love to have a car that runs smoothly, also doesnt burn holes in your pocket…
Does it exist?
I drive 1992 Holden Barina, no paint on bonnet, starts when she likes (her names EVE – first part of number plate)
Partner drives 1991 Commodore Exec station wagon, guzzles fuel like its dying of thirst…

If people did not disagree, or even agree to disagree what a boring world we would live in indeed!
To Toni, I was merely stating what I had experienced at my health club, having the knowledge that someone is always there to help/ encourage you certainly does motivate one further.
I also do not think this mentoring program is for me at this point in time, as I would certainly need a lot of encouragement and 121 sessions for me to feel confident in this area.
But who knows, maybe there will be plenty of new mentors ready to share their skills once they have completed the program!
Good luck to all in their endeavours.

What I would like to know, is if there is only 1 mentor, how does one remain focussed and committed,
for example: If I attend a health club, every time I visit I will be able to access one on one support to keep me motivated.
Also my understanding of a mentor is someone you trust, are familiar with, and look up to for guiding your ways,
I do not know how this would be possible if there is only 1 hour or less allocated.Forgive me if I am naive or cynical, I believe I would need quite a lot of understanding, and coaching to be able to realise any successful investing measures, due to fear and mistrust, as well as loathing of some unscrupulous people in the real estate world!

3 things I desire in this world,
to eat well,
to sleep well and to love well…A little music is good for the soul,
a little wine good for the heart,
but nothing will ever be good enough for a mortals mind!We all want a bit more money just to help life get better…..

Hi all,
I am considering joining but not completely sold as yet as I do not know if i would benefit from such a program.
It sounds to me that if this is indeed a profiteering exercise and not a genuine mentoring program designed to assist unskilled and uneducated investors (like myself) then it is definitely disappointing.
Not to mention disheartening to us investors who already feel that investing is only for ruthless sharks and headhunters eager to get rich under the guise of business enterprises.
I am not suggesting that Steve or indeed anyone else here does fit into this category, but to a person who has been burnt undertaking a so called “investment”, I sincerely hope people do their research and go in with eyes open to anything.
It certainly makes being an honest wage earner all that more appealing!

It is a 3 bd unit valued at 210k, I have paid off my house which is worth around 240k and we have a principal and interest loan on the property.
Thanks for the advice people, I will have to sit down and work out my goals I think.

I don’t have time to look for +CF but with those fees might not have a choice?

Jhopper is that a joke? I dont get it?[blush2]
Scremin, actually my husband gets very well paid compared to other cabinet makers, the reason he told me he was a pilot is that he was sick of women saying “Is that all?” whenever he told them what he did for a living!
He asked me to marry him 8 months after we met. It was a whirlwind romance that still hasn’t ended…..[inlove][inlove]

Sorry Everyone!
It’s in Telstra Dome, Melbourne.
I didn’t put that in before.

I met mine at a nightclub, (the last place I would normally expect to find them) and he told me he was a pilot at first, then when he realised it could get more serious confessed he was really a cabinet maker!
The best man told that story at our wedding.
7 years next week….

Hi All,
I am a believer at the moment, my ability to earn an income IS an asset at this time of my life!
Especially as am frantically trying to pay off this investment loan, to free up more borrowing power for the next property.
I think think the higher the income the easier it would be though, so i am looking for ways to improve myself and so my earning power.
I generally enjoy my job but want more time for me which is why I invest.

I think its a great idea demps, perfect for busy people like me who doesnt have the time to look for +CF properties herself!
You could always do it just for family and friends (word of mouth is a good thing) and sort of do it as a cash under the counter job.
Just have all your contacts to refer people to ie solicitor, bank, builder, RE agent etc that way you can just be a referral
service rather than a bird dogger!good luck!

I have only had a brief look at somersoft but this site appears to be more “user-friendly”
I would like this site to have a chat room though…
Trisha
Mini,
Sounds like youve got it all worked out!
Hopefully soon I’ll know what its like to have a surplus from property instead of having to work hard to make the repayments!
Your right about needing to feel good on the inside, isnt it a shame the “bliss of spending” wears off so quickly?!!
Our consumerism society certainly doesnt help, oh well its all food for thought…

Hi Ali,
I know exactly where youre coming from, everytime I talk about investing on a grand scale my parent get all wild eyed and say “dont get yourself into debt!” they come from the school where all debt is bad, they think the only way to wealth is to win tattslotto!
I also have the problem of not enough time, I work three jobs and although I have one investment property, its currently negatively geared so I need to work hard to pay it off!
I agree that you need someone to mentor you as family can really make you doubt yourself,
as for friends and workmates they get a glazed look in their eyes when I talk of investing!Sorry i cant give you any tips, all I can say is keep a positive attitude and know youre not alone on this one.
