Hey Jason,
I often hear people say that it is harder,if not impossible, for self employed to secure finance. But my experience has been somewhat easier…..I have been self employed in the building industry (the stability of which fluctuates wildly),and yet I have never bene knocked back for finance for my home, car, two IPs etc…I don’t know if it…[Read more]

I would hardly call the reno brothers experts.I cringe when I read their weekly column in the Sunday Herald Sun in Melbourne, the crap they dribble, and the advice they give as “experts” to people who want to DIY.They should stick to medicine and accounting, and leave renovations to QUALIFIED tradesmen.

There has been much discussion on this board about Richmastery.I personally haven’t had any dealings with them, but try using the search function for more info.

Hi Jason,
ASIC deals with this sort of thing and has much info on their website about these scams
http://fido.asic.gov.au/fido/fido.nsf.
But it has been my experience that it is a waste of time contacting them.I once lost 40 big ones in a scheme that turned out to be a scam, and even though it was under their umbrella, they did nothing to help me.I…[Read more]Tools replied to the topic Deleting Users in the forum Site Problems / Feedback 20 years, 10 months ago

Hey Yack,
IMHO,a fair percentage of members here will already be scouring those sites in their own search,so they will find these deals themselves anyway. You really need to tap in to your own source if you want to be hitting people up for a fee.

Hi Fullout,
In a word, yes, you can tile directly over existing tiles. But before you decide to go this route, consider how the extra thickness will affect existing surfaces.Consider wether or not you will be happy to see the additional thickess around the edges.Check how it will finish against shower screens etc.Shower bases have a rebate along the…[Read more]

Oh dear…..what’s going on with my number of posts????????
Another tell tale sign that you may have asbestos is the colour. If the sheet is unpainted, and looks pink or green,it will be asbestos.Any corrugated roof sheets will almost definitely be asbestos.

Tools replied to the topic Changing locks/safety? in the forum General Property 20 years, 11 months ago
Hi guys,
Instead of changing the whole lock, cylinders can be changed on some locks,or else just take the cylinder to a locksmith and have them re key it.That will cost about $10 – $12 per cylinder. So if you have a Lockwood 001 deadlatch for example,it would cost only $20 – $ $24

That sounds great until the tax man catches up with him,and he is liable far tax, gst, superannuation etc…..or worse still if the employee injures himself at work and your friend has no workcover,he will lose his profits, and more, and get taken to the cleaners (no pun intended!) for not having a workcover policy in the first place. It just isn’t…[Read more]

Hi xyzzy,
It is the building manager/developer that has the liquidators in (or will have at 3 this afternoon). My concern is that if any money is owed to the building managers from the body corporate, the liquidators will go after that, and as they have access to the funds, they may just take what they think they are entitled to.We are having a BC…[Read more]
