Hi Zoe, if rate rise is your concern, have you considered fixing your loan?

Dammit, if you offer is "subject to Pest & building inspection and bank valuation to the buyer's satisfaction within 14 days", then you should have the 14days "cooling off" to your favour, though agents often dislike the term "to the buyer's satisfaction "

    Nucopia,

Try a quote with Australian Unity or Allianz. If you have health insurance with Australian Unity, you get an extra discount too.

Definately replace the agent you feel they are not working for you! It’s worth changing agents many times till you find one that’s actively managing your property.

A slack can cost you as much as a bad tenant!

In regards to how much rent you should ask for your unit, ask around a few agents and you can get a pretty good idea what is reasonale.

Same story here… Any talk of investing bores my husband. He never wants to inspect a property, let along buying one! .. It’s much easier I do it all alone.. but at least he is willing to be the handy man if I need the window of my IP fixed.

No doubt with a motivated partner, I would probably have doubled the no. of properties I own.. but the most important thing is not to be let down by discouragement, even when it is from your partner!
