Great advice guys…the glass border sounds interesting. We had originally planned on all white tiles but I am very much liking the idea of the glass to give it a bit of perzazz (spelling?) Not sure about the floor yet. Would the albaster look good on the floor with the white walls? Our bathroom is tiny. I have read that big tiles make small rooms appear larger. Is this true? thanks

Thanks purplekiss. As we have a 6 year old and a 9 year old I think that tiling will be the best. We know for sure that the room is not square. Luckily we have installed an exterra termite baiting/monitoring system so that should be a problem.

Thanks for your reply. Do you know if you can install them over walls or do we have to rip of the wall material. Not sure what it is exactly (1940s house) and install directly to the studs as you mentioned. thanks

I agree with Misty. I would start by putting locks on all the bedroom doors. Get quotes to install phone lines in each of the bedrooms as uni students these days will need use of the internet. Also look at getting some basic furniture, bed, desk wardrobe etc for each room. I live in a university town and the students love this sort of set up. It is half way between a house and staying on campus. I would also include electricity, gas and water in the rent charges to make it more appealing.

Hi all. Long time reader, first time poster. My husband and I are very lucky. He is a CFP and explains the pros and cons of various strategies and then I do the research as I have more time. Then we get together, go through everything and make a decision based on what is best for our future. Having someone who not only supports but also complements what you do is ideal.
