    What is the current state of the US particularly with what has happened to Detroit?

    Highly recommend Shahin who posts in the forum – he has just financed our third purchase. He is based in Sydney but not sure exactly where.

    I contacted AAMI and they were not able to help. GIO are sending me a quote. I think I will just go with them.

    Hi Guys,

    Just a quick update – firstly a big thank you to this site and Shahin as I was able to get finance for the property.

    I spoke to Shahin and we he submitted the application as a residential application and the valuation came back ok. We are now waiting for the documents to be sent out. Also the agent has told me that he had another buyer put in an offer that was $70k higher than my offer!

    Jacm – I am going to call GIO today. Any other insurance companies you recommend or is GIO the best one?

    Wow thanks Shahin.

    Yes there are recent sales – there were 3 properties that sold recently that were quite similar. Yes the houses are self contained and we are using them as part of the application.

    I'm not sure I want to go back to my broker based on the above!

    Hi Guys,

    Thanks for the quick response. We purchased the property for $620,000 and the LVR is 90-95%. They are individual houses and the property is within 15 km of Perth CBD.

    What's your thoughts?
