Thanks everyone for their input. I’ve only been on this site for about a week, and I’ve already learned so much!
Josh, your proposal sounds good, would be very professional to have a template, and more efficient too. Let’s look in to it, you know my email…
To everyone else, where should I look for this information? I’ve started with the ABS, and then should I just call RE and police etc in the area, and go up there and speak to the locals? Any other suggestions?Sophie

Don’t quite get what you mean. Are you advertising your services as a spotter, or are you interested in the property, and if so, what do you need to know about it?Sophie
Thanks for the tips guys. I just went back to Steve’s book and re-read the section on DD, and went to the website to try and get the e-book, but I have a Mac computer, so can’t get it (very annoying).
I actually don’t have the funds to get the property right now, so was hoping to tip someone else off about it for a spotters fee.
If I was going to do that, what information would I need to supply the prospective buyer and how much should I charge?
The house is advertised at about $43k and fits the ’11 second rule’.

Couldn’t you look in to buying property in Malaysia? You can also have a look on realestate.com.au to get a bit of an idea.
Weekly rent from property, divided by 2 is the max amount (in thousand) you should spend to buy the place… eg rental income is $100p/w can pay max $50,000 to buy the place
Hey Richard,
What areas of QLD are you keen on (for up to 100K)?.. or would that be spilling the beans?

Is there some way of changing the website so the froum pages and topics dont take so long to load? I’ve been timed out quite a few times tonight cos it’s taken too long, and I have broadband.

I have the same problem with my parents!!! Will hopefully have the dosh to buy my first property mid next year!
Know what you mean Anna. None of my friends are in to investing, they’re all relying on tattslotto. My best friend got herself a credit card for emergencies only… the first emergency was that she needed a Playstation 2! Good to be on here reading about other people who are actually making realistic plans to create money.

Hi Pousti,
I’m interested in meetings in Melb too. Let me know if you hear of any.
PS I’d go for CF+ve cos why earn a tax break to lose money when you can get a tax break to MAKE money (if you do it right)Sophie
Wow! What an amazing amount of information. I’ve been thinking it would take me a while to save up for my first investment property, but after reading this I am closer than I thought! I can’t wait to get started. Thanks to everyone for sharing their hard earned knowledge.
