    Hi again,

I forgot to tell you what my dad likes to eat…
how about a sweetmilk (condensed milk) with peanut butter and sardines sandwich. I’ll never forget when I ended up with his lunch in my lunchbox by accident. I was sick for a week.

    Cheers

    Hi there,

Thanks Steve for that perspective [:D]
I think the forum should be very pleased I’m not running for parliament………………. YET!!! [;)][:0)][:0)][:0)]

Although I can think of worse things to do than to keep a office seat nice and warm until I can walk away with a golden handshake and for the rest of my life think I’m Goldfinger! [;)]

Going to go and contemplate which seat I’d run for…
    LOL! [:D]

    Hi there,

LOL! My nephew has called his rat “Ruthy”… Aparantly, I’m the only person who can get “Ruthy” to fall asleep on them. I just patted “Ruthy” on her tummy and she fell asleep paws up (and yes, she did wake up!!! LOL)

I know Stuart little is a mouse, but you could always call him Stuart Little 1, 2 (and I think they’re in the process of making number 3).

I think I’d stick to tradition and call the rats “Ben 1” “Ben 2” “Ben 3” respectively. That way they already have a song named for them [:D] Also if one dies, you can always replace the one that dies, with the number.. ie…Ben 2 dies, you buy another rat to replace it and that becomes Ben 2.[xx(]

    Doesn’t anyone bye goldfish anymore???

    Cheers

    Hi there,

Cats, get such a bad rap! My cats are great. Although I get the idea. Makes sense and I pretty well do it generally, give the benefit of the doubt. Most of the time, if you just ask the person what’s up, ie ” I can see your.(insert busy, tired, stressed etc)…. do you need a hand” it kind of affirms their feelings and helps them to chill. People then relax around you… nice positive karma after that.
Kind of wondered about the dirty look the policeman gave me when I was speeding towards him! [:0)] Okay, bad joke.[:P]

    Hi,

When I was in Beijing on my acupuncture study trip, I was given black heart soup. Don’t ask me what it was made from, but I tried it, thinking it was soy that made it that colour, and after 1 spoonful, I refused to eat any more and my fellow Chinese student said “Black heart soup…very good for phlegm, you don’t want more?” I gave him my bowl. After that, I went to the local Friendship store and bought lot’s a noodles, just and boiling water (kettle) and ate that for about 2 weeks.

I loved my trip to Beijing, especially our special celebratory lunch at the Summer Palace (reserved for VIP’s) that was delicious.

Now when I want something different to try, I go to Springvale shopping strip.

    (oh… I’ve eaten sheep’s pancreas too)
Mainly ovo-lacto vegetarian now, but not strict.

    Hi there,

Arty, if you hadn’t guessed by now, I’ve got a weird sense of humour [:D], I probably would have laughed (just like I did when Mike got stuck) to see a grown man stuch in the tubes!

Considering a McHappy meal is $3.95 (basic unit) to charge $10 they’d have to do a lot of entertaining for 1.5 hours. Tidy little profits for them though!

Craig, ‘Shootball’ or ‘Paintball’ would be ace! Many years ago I played a laser version at the Fun Factory (which was? at the cnr of Toorak and Chapel St, in Melbourne). My Dad (“Smiley”) and Mike, played one team and Mum and I played the other. When I couldn’t find my targets and I got bored, I used mum for target practice (mum was so trusting [;)][:D]) No wonder I won! We all had fun though and it was a great workout. I slept well that night.

    Cheers

    Hi Bridgette,

Loved your tracks [8D]… so did Simon, my little one.

I’ve done a search for you and rather than listing post by post, I’ll just list the link to the search results.

It might be good to scroll through the above link.

Did you get some info from http://www.propertytalk.co.nz I know it’s new but it’s NZ specific. I’m thinking about posting in the forum section myself.. [:D]

    Cheers

    Hi there Phil,

I’m glad that you enjoy the forum [8D].

    quote:

If you are all so bored, you’re welcome to come and live with me for a week

This was meant tongue-in-cheek ([:P]) and was not meant for anyone to get defensive about (not saying that you did though, just a clarification).
Posting, is 2-D and so it’s hard to actually ascertain the ‘exact’ nature of the ‘spirit’ of the post, just like you mentioned in the post, and I can appreciate that. Human nature is wonderful to study, I agree, but when do you actually jump in when you see that someone is getting ‘pummled’ whilst you’re watching the scene take place[?]
‘Bystander Apathy’ is not really an option for a moderator, but I’d like to think I give people a fair go.
PI’s a great site, many positive attributes especially the community spirit. So let’s enhance those features and move forward.

    Cheers

    Hi Arty,

There used to be a commercial about that… I think it went something like the boy saying “I’m getting in touch with my feminine side”.
I can imagine why he’d feel a little out of place.
Nope, I couldn’t leave a 3 year old or even a 5 year old by themself. 7 and 10 is already getting to the age, where they are shooing the parents away [:D]
How much do Macca’s parties cost?

    Hi Arty,

7 and 10 are able to fend for themselves pretty much. I’ve got 15 (nieces and nephews combined)on my side of the family and 12 (soon to be 13) nieces and nephews combined on Mike’s side of the family. Birthday’s are a very expensive undertaking, very noisy, and very exhausting. I did Simon’s 1st Birthday at a indoor play centre and it cost about 1K. He’ll be 2 on the 4th of November, so this year I’ll just get immediate family together.
Went to a 5 and 3 year old’s party at an indoor play centre on Sunday, and one of the mum’s went off and left her son, who just cried and cried throughout the party. I picked him up and cuddled him and got Phillip to give him some food. Finally, he stopped crying and went off to play, but I couldn’t understand leaving a 3 year old, even though all his friends were there. I know the mum was doing it tough (pregnant with the 6th child), but still very [:(]
You wouldn’t believe the politics that go on at a child’s birthday party….WHoooooo! [B)][B)][B)]
I’m so glad to be Switzerland! [8D]

Things are sure different to when my mum was bringing up us children.

    Cheers

    Hi there,

I was told by a Dr in Box Hill South, near the station, that if you don’t go to sleep by 10pm than you might as well not sleep, because you don’t really rest your body… So, If It hits 10pm and I’m not asleep, I don’t go to sleep….LOL, just kidding. I’m a night owl, have been since I was a young’un. I like the night time.
I could do with more sleep though. I need 4 hours sleep to be ‘human’, 5 hours to be ‘superhuman’ and 6 hours to be springing off the walls [:0)]

    Hi Steve,

Thanks for adding this spot in the forum for our fellow forumites, who love to keep up to date with the latest media news.
All should feel free to post if they have any news on a program either on TV or Radio, or any article which can contribute to the PI community’s general knowledge base.
PLEASE remember to post prior to when Today Tonight will be hosting our favourite vegimite – (Yep that’s YOU Steve!) [:D] I might actually get to watch one of them [;)]

    Carry on posting [8D]

    Hi Arty,

We started breeding with “Pepper” in 1994 (I think) and we stopped in 1997. We kept ‘Pepper’ and ‘Squirrell’ (Pepper’s daughter) and they are our cats now, both neutered. ‘Amy’ is still breeding in Japan. Our cattery name is ‘Nocturne’ named for the night noises cats on call make [;)].

    I’ve always had animals.
Dogs, goats, ducks, sheep, cats, rats, guinea pigs, birds, fish, lizards, terrapins, xylotyls, crabs (the hermit type [;)]), chickens, tadpoles, possums (okay, we didn’t keep them, they kept us)
The list goes on… Although we didn’t live on a farm.

    Cheers

    Hi there,

I have two Blue-Cream torti Burmese Pedigree cats.
They were breeding queens. Pepper is the mother (‘Siamber Chilli Pepper’ is her real name) and her daughter Squirrel (Nocturne ‘Squirrel’). Squirrel’s daughter Amy (Nocturne ‘Amy’) we sold to Japanese for breeding. We’ve had over 40 kittens bred by these beautiful creatures, to whom which I am allergic too.
I stopped breeding, when we changed their diet and the food (which was supposedly high quality) caused birth defects in the kittens [:(].
I’m allergic to many types of animals (including Lizards), but I love them all the same.

    Cheers
