    Hi Dianne,

I attended his free intro in Melb, and found his presentation skills quite good, and even learnt a couple of things.

I was totally shocked at the price of the paid seminar, and it put me out of the market immediately.

My real question is, that PF offered a full money back guarantee, and he guaranteed up to $750 further reimbursement to cover accom/travel costs; If there were so many unhappy people – did anyone ask for their money back? Did you ask for your money back?

I was left feeling skeptical about this guarantee and the seminar contents.

    Best Regards,
    Damien

    Hi Rod,

I guess it is to sell books, and help people; but I’ve certainly noticed some REA’s in a certain Vic country town delighted to see “another” buyer from Melb to join in the bidding war on a couple of cf +ve houses. They are now not CF+ as the bidding has got a bit out of control!

I think we’ve pushed the price of the couple of houses up for the locals!

    Hi,

Real name Damien, married to lovely tania (who I went to high school with), and a son – Karl. Why did I buy Steves book and research here? At the moment with the hours I work, and the study I do, I feel soooo guilty about the small amount of time I get to see Karl grow up. I know I’m not the only one to work/study these hours with a family in tow, but it is quite a sad state.

Originally from Tassie, but left to join the Army for 10 years, then a most unhappy stint with HP for four years, and the last 5 managing a small technical sales office. Now live in Eltham Vic.
Seems to be lots of people in the forum from the E/NE suburbs of melb.

9K to go on our own home which was valued at $270K, so I guess we’re going to try to use the equity to borrow against. Have 2 offers in on the same property at the moment (in WA). Both offers, if either one is accepted, will ensure a good +ve cf start.

Got a couple of great business ideas, and want to get back to Tassie to activate them, but need cold, hard $$. So goal is to do an interstate trip in late Nov and buy as many IP’s as I can in 2 weeks.

Good to hear everyones tales, keep em coming….

    Hi Sooshie,

Sorry for the late reply. Yep those shares did plummet, and I can undersstand why for Agilent. It is the most poorly managed place I have ever known.

Not sure why HP share price dropped so much.

Agilent was the worst place I’ve ever worked. Nepotism was rife. But those days are over, and I’ve heard the guys there are somewhat happier now that some main offenders were removed.

    HI All,

Been great reading everyones background and jobs.

10 years Army – electronics apprenticeship
4 years Hewlett Packard (now Agilent) – servicing electronic commmunications test equipment
last 5 years sales specialist electronic & electrical equipment for a small family coy.

Really want to have my own business, maybe back home in Tas, but doing something completely different. Currently studying an MBA to give myself the best opportunity to make it work if I do take the plunge. Do have something unique in mind, but hope I don’t get to it too late.

About to take the plunge into the first IP – wish me luck!

    Regards, D[8D][8D]

    Hi Dennis,

I’ve blown consideerable $$ in Cobart already, albeit not in property. But have been there and it is a bit depressing, but maybe moreso for me!

    Hi Mini,

Any chance you could help me with the lawyer in Aust & NZ?

I’ve approached a couple locally, and they look at me like I’m mad, and advise against property’s future outlook!!

    I only want a document not a wuffo’s advice.

    HI ,

We are a serious termite area, and I’ll share ours, and 2 neighbours encounters.

We have an older weatherboard place on stumps, no previous infestations. We decided we’d like some paving out the back, so we paved to the back of the house – 12 months later, termite damage to 2 boards. Yep we got quotes for chemical treatments, but cause I’m such a tight~, I figured there must be a reason we’d got them, since there was no previous history in a bad area.

I read a book by a CSIRO scientist (sorry cant remember name or author) – his advice was simple – forget treatments & remove the cause. Allow airflow & light under the property and remove entry points. Got rid of them in two weekend, 4 years ago!

Neighbour 1: Beeen infested 4 times in 7 years – has concrete slab, gets treated each time, keeps getting them through new slab entry points.

Neighbour 2: Has house as per mine – totally rerenovated and replaced damaged boards, reclad & put a new deck in & got treatment. BUT hasn’t removed entry points – slab and driveway at front & side of house! Can’t tell him, cause the chemical treaters told him they’d fix it. Tried to get Nieghbour 1 to talk to nieghbour 2 – result yet unknown.

The moral? Well I guess I would only ever buy stumped houses in really bad areas, and remove any potential entry points (never build anything to the house edge that connects to the ground).

For your problem Doogs – I’d prob think seriously about selling.

    Hi trisha,

Get Steves book – he put $100 on a house once when they were asking for $10K.

No law to give an amount apparrently, just std practise for REA’s to put 10$ figures on contracts.

    Rgds, DAmien
