On Dave Letterman last night…
Diana Ross appeared in court – well groomed with perfect make-up etc. Outside were a group of fans shouting “Michael, Michael”.

Interesting…
I bought a unit off the plan in Sydney using a put/call option. The reason for this was to defer the stamp duty until settlement.
I guess in WA this won’t be an option now.

I have heard (although this could be an urban myth) that with some developments RE agents won’t even try to resell the units because there aren’t the buyers out there. They don’t want to put their reputations on the line.
I thought when buying off the plan, if you don’t proceed with the settlement you automatically forfeit your deposit and also you have to pay the developer the difference between your sale price and the amount the developer can resell the property for (assuming the price is less – if it is more, the developer wins & you just forfeit the deposit)

I found the seminar very worthwhile.
It answered questions I didn’t know I had. I got to meet like-minded interesting people and gave me direction on what to do next.

I get advice whereever I can but ultimately the final decision and responsibility rest with me.
My test – by doing this will I still be able to sleep at night? If the answer is yes, then I go ahead.

I had a great time at the seminar in Sydney last year.
Learnt lots and came away with many ideas.
My problem is not just the seminar fee, but the flight down, accommodation & leaving the family for the weekend.
If I was in Melbourne, I wouldn’t hesitate to go again.

Being slightly complacent…
As HK didn’t make many inroads into the Sydney market, I don’t think there be much impact on the Sydney property prices.
If anything the powers that be may tighten regulations but I’m sceptical of that too.

I’ll admit to knowing very little about the place – except nobody born there is called Tracy…
IMHO, the Ghan will only increase rail tourism but will have little impact on the number of permanent residents. My guess it may give backpackers more employment opportunities.

In the US, courses are given a number and 101 refers to an introductory course. Therefore, Property Investing 101 is a basic introduction to Property Investing. “101” has become a colloquial expression to anything introductory.

I appreciated the comment on the radio today –
Americans are morally otraged by the exposure of Janet Jackson’s breast but these are the same people who watched repeated viewings of the Rodney King bashing without getting upset.
