    Hiya RachieM
Personally, after working in the Radionuclide industry for many years, I would not live under or close to high powerlines.
Check out this info on ARPANSA's web site:
    http://www.arpansa.gov.au/RadiationProtection/Factsheets/is_emf.cfm

No scare tactics….just plain research data and figures.
I guess it really is a personal thing.
With regards to any form of radiation, my motto is 'Knowledge overcomes Fear'….

    Hi Mrs C
I purchased a house last year in WA and the vendor hadn't fixed a few problems by last inspection. I asked my settlement agent to hold back 2K (what was a reasonable amount to have the problems fixed if the vendor didn't come through) and this helped push the vendor to fix the problems quick smart. We had placed the problems on the contract though and stated that settlement would not go through until they were fixed. Putting a $$ value on issues made the vendor move.
Might be easier to just get the problems fixed pronto to get the sale…
    In my humble opinion…

    Hi people.
Have just finished my 3rd reno kitchen in Perth and used bunnings for most of them…utilised the existing cupboards though (saved heaps), just grabbed doors and tops from bunnings. Special order bunnings tops are great value and still cheaper than IKEA. They also have matt finish doors so you dont have to put up with the 'shiny' look.
Another place to grab some deals is the Quokka! Have completely refitted a whole bathroom with Quokka deals including the tiles! Saved a packet but had to do a bit of running around first…if thats not your style then head to the shops. Last deal from the Quokka was a brand new induction hotplate (German brand) that had been slightly damaged on initial install (corner had been cracked) so was sold off….original price was $1200.00….I paid $275.00. Once installed I placed a SS strip around the edge to hide the crack and it looked better anyway as it matched all the other SS appliances…..
    My two bob….
    Best of luck

I recently purchased an IP with 40 years worth of wallpapering….you could guess the decades after removing the layers….they literally just papered over the old with the new….
After considering an expert, I decided to do the job myself. All it took was elbow grease and plenty of hot water & sugar soap! I used a scraper  to remove the really stubborn areas but found that if you really soaked the walls with hot water & sugar soap it dissolved the glue and the walls came up perfect! I also removed as much of the 'paper' by hand….just ripped it off the walls to leave behind the glue and a thinner porous layer of paper.
I am not sure of the type of wall paper or glue that would be used in a bathroom but I found this method ideal.
    I hope this helps!
