Just read this thread and thought I would also add that many mining companies are doing a flyin-fly out deal with their employees. They live in other areas to the mine and the company charters a jet for each shift (weekly or whatever).
Just be on the lookout for this occuring in some of the smaller towns as it does happen reguarly.

Spent a bit of time in the bush, as well as camping, bushwalking etc. I also live on the border of Bobbin Head National Park. I have seen a few Diamond Pythons, Carpet Snakes and Red Bellies around here.
BTW, there are dangerous things in NZ…..

I think there are a few that are more deadly than the Red Belly.
The King Brown gives about 15 minutes before your heart stops, then there is the Death Adder, Taipan, Copperhead. I think they are all worse that the Red Belly.
There is one snake though which is not deadly to humans because I think it is either too small or does not inject enough…[Read more]

Makes you wonder what other species we don’t know about that are out there that would give us the creeps.
Most foreigners think Australia’s full of poisonous things, and it pretty much is.
We have I think 7 out of the top 10 deadliest snakes in the world and don’t forget sharks (Tiger, White Pointer, Mako, Hammerhead) , blue ringed octopus, box…[Read more]

Its actually called a camel spider, it has 10 legs and the picture is of two spiders.
They are very common in Iraq and in parts of the US (albeit smaller).

Take at look at my latest thread in FF. BTW, I know what you mean about Melb and 4 season in one day. I was in Melbourne ffor a Xmas party a few years ago and it was 8 degrees and raining/windy in the middle of December. It didn’t help that it was 26 in Sydney when I left, wearing shorts/t-shirt and Ansett lost my luggage for a day. I was…[Read more]

Just gone for a short while and 2 replies goes to 11. You guys must be bored!
I haven’t been to Gerldton but been passed it a few times on the way north. I will be in WA early May to see my folks. Looking forward to that, I haven’t been there for just over 12 months.
In terms of getting your posts up, this is the place to do it, just ask…[Read more]

Welcome to Forum Frolic Steph.
This used to be the fun place where we generally had conversations about nothing.
Lately it has been really boring because Chan can’t access it from work. He was 50% of FF at one stage. SiS and Guru are O/S and no idea where Westan, Muppet, Kay, Mattp, Pinky, et al are.

I agree with you. I have made my point before that I am for a diverse portfolio. This includes both -ve, neutral and +ve CF properties. I am in it for the long haul as I don’t see a quick fix with +ve CF. I would need 100+ to get a decent income so my wife and I wouldn’t have to work. Quick fix – I don’t think so!

Thanks Andrew.
Hey, $7 grand is $7 grand for me too. Don’t get me wrong, I would love that for a weeks work.
I thought it may have been a few months work but I guess a 1 week exit strategy is still an exit strategy isn’t it?[biggrin][biggrin]
And anyway it was an example so it could have even been a flip!
