We had student accom a few years ago. We charged by the room but it wasnt worth the hassle. We bought houses in QLD near the Uni ,
I wouldnt recommend it unless you really are prepared for the hassles
Hi SQ
If I was a buyer I guess i’d be a little unsure about buying privately but I have a terrific lawyer in Qld . I know he’d check out the contract of sale thoroughly. How did you feel about showing strangers through the house?
Was your IP tenanted at the time?
Hi Dave
As the houses are selling for $300,000 + we thought they were overpriced so had to find a way to explore other possibilities.
Our opinion is exactly as you say.
My husband has stayed or visited a few mine sites and is a little knowledgeable on the risk of buying into a mining town.
We are planning on visiting Roxby Downs over the next two weeks.
The problem is there is no accomodation available !
We wish we had bought two years ago as well
I would love to know also. Recently we stayed in a B&B in Melbourne.
There were 4 bedrooms each with their own bathroom. The owner had her rooms at the end of the hall. I was surprised her rooms were part of the B&B set up. Breakfast included of course.
I wondered how profitable it was etc. Also we went past a boarding house my husband lived in the 1970’s and it is still being run as a guest house.
Im very interested in any info on guest houses/B&B’s
We nearly bought a one bedroom in Vision. We put in a $2000 expression of interest and got to the contract stage. We had applied to our bank for a Bank Guarantee but in the end we decided just too risky as an investment just right now.
Hi Teedee
We live in SE Qld.
Firstly what ever you do you must use Tim O’Dwyer as your solicitor. He is our personal lawyer and dont know whether you have heard of him but he is a solicitor you can trust in Qld
