IMHO contact Depreciatior (though this time of year all QS will be flat out as people leave it to the last minute.
I believe they are not all the same….like any industry

FILLS up our INBOX though Terry, so have your PI e-mail as a Yahoo (1GB) account..
The ability to add spreadsheets and maybe a photo/restoration/makeover area would be great..
I’m all for a $ucce$$ $tories area..maybe have a Moderator interview the Forum Member once they are a regular..maybe ala Personal Investor, API, BRW format..there are some interesting members out there who are great at what they do..

I’ve had a mixed reaction..some of the guys i work with are into property and willing to pass on information, some are private about it until you get them talking..one semi-retired guy is a bit of a self taught guru and a wealth of info for me..
Others at work or family/relations think we’re rich..far from it as we have less spending money than they do, we just spend wisely and plan for the future..
Then there are others who ask for advice, which i’m happy to talk about as far as personal experience goes and lessons i’ve learnt (i find you learn a lot by explaining things to others also..)

Also when i was in BALI the economy had suffered from the bombing immensely; i agree with not boycotting the area..Indonesia as a whole wouldn’t care and i’d hate to be in Schappele’s shoes in Jail after that course of action..

I believe there are over 100 Australians held on drug related crimes in various countries around the world?
David HICKS is still held without being charged?
Other Aussies in jail at the same time as Chapelle are now out ( 1 for Exctasy and the other for firearms on his boat) did the Media attention help or Hinder Chapelle’s fight???
If Chapelle looked like some scruffy, dreadlocked, nose pierced hippie guy with a goatie and one tooth..would the attention and sympathy be as high..no matter what the guilt??
These are things that run through my head regarding the incident..
Last time i was over there for a wedding we got hit up by Bali customs for’duty’ on our bottles of wine (gift wrapped great OZ wine and explained as gifts for the wedding) they wouldn’t wear it and we were taken to a seperate room, wherein the duty was explained ($25 each..bargained to $15) and then let out the side gate.
A friend the day before was hit up for $50 for the wine (again gift wrapped as gifts for the wedding..TIP dont bother next time no matter what the Travel Agent says about avoiding payment)
as for Bali, enjoyed it untill 4 of us got Salmonella on the last day[puke]

As a follow up to the 20% price variation, i was told by a family member that a builder they were talking to had included that variation and would be looking at up to $18K extra..?

$600K..*sheesh*..i was talking to a builder the other day who told me that on a $450K house you could save up to $180K by “Owner Building” i believe some Builders are inserting in a 20% variance for price fluctuations and the fact its taking 18 months to build?
Ausprop does this sound right?

Sure do wayne, think i posted the PM fees in WA on the forum once before when a PM wanted to move from 8.25% to 9.35% M Fee..
I told them i was happy with the current deal and needed 21 days notice from them if they wished to change (think that was Marisa’s idea and it worked well)..no change in M Fee[biggrin]

$66 is Cheap here..ask some of the others on the Forum.
Just negioted another the other day on an IP and bargained them down by pointing out cheaper fees by other companies and not accepting some stuff, such as the regular 3 monthly inspections (4 per year-more if tenant leaves as you then get the B**dy vacating inspection, property Condition Report fiasco again).
Some now want $2.20 per photo for photo’s taken when doing the PCR, i mentioned the age of digital camera’s..
