Hi,
We are purchasing a house in Woy Woy Bay. We work in Hornsby.
We are needing a recommended conveyancer who is thorough but competitive in price as well as someone recommended to conduct Pest & Building Inspection.
Many thanks!

Many thanks!QM started the topic Investing in Chile in the forum Overseas Deals 9 years, 10 months ago
Am interested in investing in Chile. My partner is a Chilean citizen and an Autralian resident so no problem there.
What are the tax immplications, if any, as an Australian Citizen investing in Chile?
Also are we better to pay cash for the property or my partner having a loan from a Chilean banck to purchase the property? Again, I need to…[Read more]

Hi,
Am looking for feedback on commercial loans for purchasing a currently tenanted commercial property with a solid tenant, long lease, ideal location, etc. It is my first one.Aside from the obvious factors such as liquidity versus capital gain (if there is any in commercial property), what are the advantages and disadvantages of a commercial…[Read more]

Hi WiP,Thank you for your follow up.I did not end up buying the unit. I went ahead with a building and pest inspection then after viewing the reports I submitted a written offer with a bank cheque attached acting as a generous deposit. The vendor did not accept the offer. I lost approx $600 for the inspections but felt it was the best chance I had…[Read more]

Thank you for the replies.Christianb – land is not sub-dividable so can’t go with your suggestion!
Dcwwood – am thinking along your thoughts….
Either way, the property does need some work so can anyone recommend a builder in the area?

Oh…and if the area does not EVENTUALLY improve, then what? Hold, rent or sell? Sell doesn’t give us much – if not less than what we paid for.
Looking forward to feedback. Cheers.

Phil,
Thank you so much for taking the time to respond and with such valuable feedback! I will most certainly take up on your advice.
If the bank valuation was to end up way under, are you saying I am stilll able to cancel the sale and obtain a refund if it is after the cooling off period (minus 0.25% after the cooling off period) and it is…[Read more]

Thank you to all who responded and to WobblySquare – I’m thinking along the lines of “parking” the cash into the offset account as well!
Sapphire101 – you’re right – I haven’t got this worked out…that’s why I’m asking. All part of the learning process and broadening options.
Cheers!

Thank you for your feedback Speedy G! Back to the drawing board and my thoughts (for investing) are now turning towards Orange and Muswellbrook. Heard a lot about them…will investigate further.
