I don’t know much about WWW but $3k is not bad to go for seminar or mentoring if the people who are teaching you know a lot more than you about property investment. One can’t learn every thing from books. Steve also started his investing after doing one seminar.

I have both of his books. Tax deduction list which SIS wrote above, is from one of the above book, which he borrowed from me. This is just to clarify that nothing is American in the list or may be Mr Dale have copied from American book which I don’t think!
People who want to learn basics of Tax etc should buy these two books today only. Read these two books and then post here their comments. There could be some other good tax related books which I am not aware of please let me know.
If you go and see accountant and don’t want to claim that travelling expense in your tax because you did couple of other work also on your way to accountant and you don’t feel comfortable doing that then it’s fine. It’s all depends on person to person and what you think is correct and what you think is wrong. I believe in paying fees for education upfront or ASAP but if SIS or some people think it’s good to defer and take advantage of the system then that’s their choice and I don’t think something wrong in it.
I think we all should have basic knowledge of accounting and tax. Keep record of every thing, but leave the final decision on your accountant whom you trust and if you don’t trust your accountant then better change soon.
Concentrate more on investing not accounting if you think you are Investor.
This is my opinion only and I follow this. May be I am wrong. [

I know with trust structure this is all possible to use as deductions with concrete reasons. But every one got different circumstance so one should check with good accountant about all this. (Good accountant should be really good one).About SIS explanation about all this I feel he is not able to explain very clearly what he is trying to explain. And I can understand it’s not all easy to make some one understand all this in few posts. That’s why many of us pay around $2k to our accountant so he will do all the work and we concentrate on our investing.
Every one think differently for tax saving and HESC. One thing I am asking to my self since reading this post, If we all stop paying tax and minimise as much as we can, and want lower interest also, and want other things also to make us happy/rich. How govt going to run country?[?][?]

I understand what are you saying. We don’t have that option any more. But may be you can do this to save some time. Go to Tools ( in your IE). then Internet Options ==> content ==> Autocomplete ==> check all the check boxes there.
This way you don’t have to type your password and username every time. May be you all are doing this already.
If Alister can put that extra option in website then we don’t have to do all this.

May be you should give that option which keep people logged on even if they ckose the window.
Muppet if you turn on your password remember option on your computer and automatically fill form option then you don’t have to type all the thing again and again.
