    I currently have 2 IP in Moranbah which are performing well,9.8% and 10.7% yields. Have also seen good capital growth in the 8 months I have owned them. I think there are currently 13 new mines on the drawing board and a huge shortage of housing which is keeping the rents high. There is a lot of land availble for development that is being held back by the council due to the lack of water to supprot new residences.

    Are you able to tell us which suburbs you purchased in in Christchurch? I own property there, bought before the current boom.

    We checked out Geraldton earlier this year, and like you we think it has a lot of potential. Money committed to infrastructure, foreshore redevelopment and the diversity of industries are all reassuring factors. We have been keeping an eye on the market and did come across one CF+ deal that was very competative – no luck there for us!! Overall, definately like the area and worthy of closer consideration.

    Go down to your local and have a punt/drink/watch the footy and chat to the other locals there. Throw out the yellow pages as you’ll meet all the tradies you ever need, buy em a beer or a few and prices will drop again.

    I like to get up half an hour early so I can stand infront of the mirror and brush my hair. Then I make sure I take my brush with me wherever I go so I may make slight adjustments just incase I pass a mirror on my journeys.

    Reminds me of that add on TV at the moment about that bloke who reckons he knows how to give financial advice but talks a whole lot of bull to his mate/s.

    So i’ll start with…

    1. Talk to a professional team of people and remember it’s a business, and business can be cruel so don’t cry when you lose out, and if you do decide to cry, i’ll buy you a beer and share my second piece of gold as such (Once you’ve finished crying on someone elses shoulder).

    Are you talking about SDG… I take it you are because that’s what immediatly came into mind… Just more institutionalised… It’s like SDG just picked up some new business cards but it turns out there was a data entry error somewhere along the way… But somehow it works and SDG doesn’t wan’t to take the cards back and just use them and become the SIW instead… Sounds PRO.
