This year instead of staying at my Mums we are staying in a little beach cottage because my brother and wife from QLD are down in Tassie.
Not enough room at mums place so we opted to rent a shack on the beach.Strange feeling.. going on holidays in your home town.Cheers,

PeteJackie replied to the topic Agent or no agent? in the forum Help Needed! 19 years ago
Hi Barni,
We have swapped agents before. We found an agent that we thought would do a better job, they sent the agent with the lease a letter signed by us sayingh that they would be taking over. No problems.
Shop around for a better property manager and ask them if this is possible. It might vary from state to state.
Good luck,
Pete

Hi,
Are you using the magnifying glass at the top right corner when you are in the forum? I had the same result using this.
Try clicking on the word “search” in the left hand column under Forum Boards. It works for me.

Hi Scott,
I started the thread after hearing you in Hobart last Thursday night. I briefly introduced myself to you on the way out and mentioned that I had heard about the evening from your posting on propertyinvesting.com.au
I thought it might be benificial for all RESULTS participants to be made aware of depreciation as I didn’t have much…[Read more]

I did an overland trip from Kathmandu to London on an old London double decker bus in 1989. One of the highlights of India would have been staying on houseboats on Dal Lake up in Kashmir. So close to the Himalayas, it was just spectacular.
Pity there is so much trouble there at the moment.Enjoy india and forget about personal space as it…[Read more]

Also in all wet areas it is important that the tiles are installed on top of a fibre cement sheet, rather than the plaster wall.
Hi Dturco,
Isn’t there a wet area plasterboard that can be used instead of the fibre cement sheet?

The only thing I don’t understand is why these companies simply don’t purchase the warehouse themselves, and not subject themselves to all of the onerous conditions imposed on them as tenants ?? Mine is not to question this however, as it is fundamental to my property strategy.
Good point Dazzling.
Lets not encourage them.

I seem to recall Steve talking about a similar topic in one of his books or a tape I have. He & Dave were looking at a block of units close to a busy road. They asked one of the tennants if the noise bothered them and they said definatly not. It helped them get to sleep.
As Steve mentioned at the time, remember you aren’t going to be living…[Read more]

Thanks Giddo, That is reassuring to know.
Kate, Interesting link. I’d never considered the possible inferiority unsponsered children might feel.

Something I used to find very hard to say no to were the various charities (worthy as they are) ringing up trying to send you raffle tickets.
That was until a friend suggested tackling it this way. “Thank you so much for the offer, however I wont be participating”
Saying thank you is much easier than saying no!
Try it.

Hi Everyone,
Great topic. Jackie & I have been considering sponsering a child for a while now.
I seem to recall something on TV a few years back stating that only a small percentage of the amount contributed actually filtered through to the child you were sponsering.
Does anyone have any further info on this?
Cheers,

Good capital growth expected plus fairly high yeilds. Would be interested if anyone has heard any negatives.

Hi J
Had the same problem a while ago.
I presume you are trying to search for the forum?
If so, when in the forum, in the left hand column under Forum Boards, click on search.
Hope that helps.

Thanks everybody for your replies.
I hope to get over there before the end of the year for a look.
I’m a builder so renovations aren’t a problem, however I think the excess luggage cost to take my tools might be.
