Sounds like you need to improve the drainage in that area.

Easing off the watering should help the problem.

I have read all the postings.

I think…make the screens yourself is the best option. Easy to do, a skill you will use many times over in your life.

Screens also keep out annoying cat, which recalcitrant daughter owns, so I LOVE screens.

Hope you have a good night’s sleep.

    Hi Kriscot

I think you should “sell” your idea. Come up with all the facts and figures, and explain what YOU think is best. This would be a good exercise for you to do for yourself…just to make sure you know what YOU want.

I am a wife and Mum and I can fully understand the need for a home and to feel secure, but long term investments must be part of the big picture. That will make everyone feel secure.

    All the best to you.

Have you seen Kath and Kim at Fountain Gate shopping Centre ?

Perhaps you could build a house and just sell it.

    Hi there

My Uni daughter lives in a college on campus. This costs me around $285 per week. She gets full board, and her room is cleaned once a week and sheets changed once a fortnight.

Internet is extra, as is phonecalls. She also has a phone in her room.

Just thought this might help you, Dannyboy, with your costings.

I have found this to be the most economical way for us to have her go to uni.

Would you get your students to sign a lease, Dannyboy ?

Is there a shortage of Uni accom. most of the students in my daughters college are OS.

Yes, the property was a leasehold unit, down at Thredbo.

Guess I will have to be content with looking forward to yearly skiing visits…..only 49 weeks to go now.

Thanks fellas for your valuable advice.

    Cost are high, it seems.

I will do lots of checking before I buy.

    Hi Marisa

You should find out if someone wants to remove the palm and relocate it. Depending on what sort of palm it is, they can be worth big bucks.

Not sure who does this, perhaps a google search.

Palms have a small rootball, so can be dug up.

Something for you to think about.

Cant imagine it being a fire risk.

I would like to know if the job was actually completed ?

Stop all this bickering and DEAL with the problem, find a SOLUTION and get on with your life.

In my experience, and I have built a few houses in my time, tradesmen always make a mess. Just deal with it and move on to happier times.

Five years down the track, I am still finding rubbish in the garden, buried in the soil that builders, tradesmen have left.

    From a sensible MUM.

How about you just start doing some legwork, and look at some properties in your price range.

That will get your ideas flowing, seeing what is actually for sale.

Perhaps a little glossory explaining the meanings of all the abbrevated terms, throughout the posts.

    Like PPOR, CGT, and others.

    Hi there

I am a newcomer, as well, so no expert, yet.

How about you look at other properties, before you make your decision to buy ? Look at the figures for them, and that will help you in making your decision.

    My head hurts too…

    Hi Dazzling

You can still spend time with your girls, send them emails, gifts, to show you are thinking of them. Make coming home a special treat, for them to plan for and get excited about. Talk to each one idividually and ask them questions about their interests.

    Create happy memories.

Of coarse you must do the same with your wife.

    Love reading your postings.

All the best to you and your family.

I might just add, a parent can be there physically, with the family, but that doesnt mean they are “beeing there” emotionally.

Your heart is in the right place.
