    On the topic of trusts….

    Are there any restrictions on the people allowed in a trust for example are non-residents/citizens of Australia able to be in a trust?

    Hi all and thanks for your replies.

    The town is approx 60,000 people and is in the hunter region.

    I like the idea of assisting with the fitout. I will try that one out.

    Not directly related to this question but has to do with the FHOG. Are there any occasions where you can receive 2 x grants for one property (in NSW that would amount to $14000) if the property was listed under 2 owners ? I didnt think so but a friend of mine was adamant that this was possible.

    Anyone?

    I think property prices have alot to do with perception. Therefore, if you give a suburb a more favourable name then it would increase the prices. Where would you prefer to live in Redfern or Alexandria?

    But !
    Why shouldnt people try and and buy a property for as low as they can. If people always thought about the risk of losing a purchase then they would always overpay.

    Hi All,

    I have a question to add.

    I understand what the basic meaning of an interest-only loan means but what do you recommend for someone who is looking to grow their property portfolio? Do the banks prefer us to try and pay some of the loan off eventually or are they happy for us to just sit there for 10 years paying interest only.
    For example if someone owns 20 properties ,are they all on interest only loans? I know it is good to try and reduce loans to therefore pay less interest but wouldnt you be better served to use positive cash flow in better ways than to reduce the loan on a property?
