    Hi Jamie,

    I did give ACTPLA a call and am quickly learning that nothing is as simple as it seems! As you said, block has to be in R2 zoning which it wasn’t- so onward to the next. Great learning process though for a total novice. I’m sure something will pop up when the time is right :)

    Ive never really looked into it to tell you the truth..
    I’m guessing you still have to get the same approvals etc?
    Whats the difference between a granny flat and say a 2 bedroom house?
    Do you not have to subdivide?
    Sorry I’ve never really considered it and now you’ve opened up a mind full of questions!

    Hi TC,

    I guess our main goal for building initially is to create some cash flow and learn the ins and outs of small developments so that we can work our way up to bigger better things as time goes on.
    Preferably buy and hold but if this isnt possible in the beginning due to cash flow then we'd sell up and leave the buy and hold until a little later down the track.
    I will certainly take your advice and pay a visit to a morgage broker in the mean time though..
