    That is why i am a tad confused.
    If i use equity out of my current home to buy a new prime residence …..and decide to rent out current home i would have to pay tax on rental income. So most people would just sell and move on. However ideally i would like to hang onto the property if i can.

    I am referring to Melbourne CBD. My house is 7 yrs old. It was built 7 yrs ago. It is not new exactly.

    I live 20km from the CBD and I am interested in buying an investment property closer to the CBD to reduce commuting times.
    My home is new and I am not sure I want to sell it right now in order to buy closer to the CBD.

    Hi ThereI too am interested to know how I can borrow money in the USA to buy an investment property. I hear that recently they have tightened things up for foreigners with regards to borrowing money and have actually stopped it for the time being.
