    Hi Yobbo

Given that you have already had the survey done I am presuming that you have Council approval for the subdivision, if not, you will have to do so.  As the Council will have to sign the new survey plan before it can be lodged at the Titles office for registration.

Your steps in Qld for the subdivsions would have/should have been:

    1.  Application to Council to Reconfigure lot
    2. Council approves/refuses
    3. If approves, gives you a list of conditions that have to be met and costs for headworks etc  ie connecting sewer/water and depending on where property is may insist on power as well.   But from your post I am thinking that you are in a residential area.
    4. Once you have paid all council fees and met conditions you then submit survey plan to them with a statement advising that you have met the conditions.   Council then signs and sends back to the plan to you – you then either take it to your solicitor for registration at Titles office or you can send it in yourself.  Costs to register in Qld is around $130 I think.  Then titles office will issue two new separate titles.

If may not be as straight forward as what I have said above but if you need any further info pls post and I will answer if I can.  Regards
