Thanks for that, is there a rough estimate ie 5% or similar, that I could use?

Okay for those that are interested in my project this time of the morning ( it’s 0530 where I am [sleepyanim]) I have now got three states’ stampduty working on the spreadsheet – WA, SA and NT.

I shall keep you updated – after Stamp Duty comes LMI – jeez can’t make it easy for myself can I?

Cheers, be back tonight again ( back at work [whistle] )

PurpleKiss – I have just read the whole thread and agree totally [confused2].

Superted – would that $62,000 bracket be gross or nett? For the first time, I think I will probably make it.

    Cheers

Thanks to one member I now have the WA rates in the spreadsheet, but looking at the formula and the other states formulas for calculating stamp duty – could be a while before this monstrosity works out.

And Rob, with the spare time I have on my hands for the next 4 months, monitoring rates will not be hard :)

    Cheers

Also depends on what the house is made of. My parents moved a house many years ago a distance of about 300k’s. Took four semi-trailers. If you do move a house, check for references etc on the people doing the move – what we saw when they moved our house was mind-boggling. Have you ever seen a complete bathroom shake, rattle and roll on a semi-trailer when it was being “un-bogged?” Quite nervous, Mum and Dad were.

    Cheers

Westan, I have a mate who is a one-eyed Essendon supporter. Every year ( I live in Alice Springs ) I would time my travel to Melbourne to include the Carlton – Essendon match. We would catch up and go to the game, each bringing tissues with us to present to the other in front of everyone!! Great fun, even our families got into it too.

It’s one thing I do miss being in Alice – the footy.

    Cheers

You’re on this forum and you have 120k equity from an investment property. I reckon you should do exactly whatever let you make 120k equity again. 20% on positive cashflow properties sounds like a mighty fine idea.

    Keep doing what you’re doing.

Yeah, I agree it’s great to see Collingwood……..dumped on by the mighty ( for one day at least ) Blue boys. Even if we don’t win another game for the rest of the year, we still beat the arch enemy.

Another one to add – “The 7 Secrets of the Rich” can’t remember the author right now, but as soon as I finished it, started applying the principles

Wallflower, I agree there. Real life teaches us more than school does!

If the few articles I’ve seen popping up on news sites etc regarding a slow down in the RE market, it could be very interesting.

Thoughts on what? Size, location etc would be helpful in allowing people to give you an answer to a question you may be asking

Not exactly a quote, but in a similar vein

“Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in a world they’ve been given, than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact, it’s an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration, it’s a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing!”

Made me take notice, I tell you :)

The game takes a while to learn – try to find someone who has played it and knows it. It is a great indicator of real life persona – what you do in real life comes out in the game. The first ( and only so far ) time I played it, I actually won! Shocked myself, and the experienced players I was playing with. Great fun

Pisces, I agree totally. I don’t have any of those vices, but my big one is computers ( I am trying to quit, down to an upgrade every 3 years ) – always trying to go faster with better equipment.

As I said in a post to ethanw, learning to save can help a lot. It’s automatic, and after a while, you don’t even notice the money missing. Things become too easy when you realise it can do you good.

    Enough from me for now……
