Thanks for your quick reply. I think I will compile a list of builders, plumbers/sparkies and use service seeker for the other trades. Out of interest did you use any builders etc off that site or any landscapers?

Thanks again for the reply have a great weekend

    Hey Gaylet,

Welcome to the forum. I agree with everyone above re: mindset. I have completed Steve's property apprenticeship Cert 4 and can highly recommend that for giving you the basis to build your financial freedom and property knowledge as it has helped me from knowing nothing about property to now knowing what I don't know ( but also knowing what I do know) . Obviously this forum is also a great resource with lots of friendly people who are walking the walk happy to help you out.

    Good luck on your journey.

So in another forum topic you say ' the blind leading the blind' and that no experienced investors will be a weakness of this group. Then when a member who helps a lot of people on here says he would like to come ( there may have been underlying sarcasm that I missed) and I invite him along you bag me for that as well. Any other tips you can throw my way Catalyst? Maybe just delete my meetup group as no good can come from it and everybody who comes will be worse off?

    Hey Richard,

Had our first meeting yesterday. We welcome young and also young at heart ( as we had with one of our members). Just wanting motivated people who are willing to take action not people who are meeting/course junkies who aren't willing to get things done. I have followed lots of your posts and our group would love you to come along. I will be looking for people in different areas to present to budding property investors if this would interest you.  Feel free to flick me a PM/email([email protected])/a message 041058792 or add the facebook page YPI brisbane .

    Hey Chris,

First link was right bit of tongue in check. Was saying he was about a year late on that market update and would have to jump in the delorean and travel back a year to sign up for it. Other link was meant to be http://www.meetup.com/YPI-Young-Property-Investors-Brisbane/ .

    Hey Catalyst,

I agree with you re: ' is it the blind leading the blind' . My goal is  I have been on a private course kind of tied in with Steve cert 4. He gave anyone on it who was enrolled the chance to come to Melbourne every 2 months from July last year to oct this year ( last meeting next month) to stay in the course we had to complete different tasks weekly between each meeting. If you failed to complete things you got eliminated the group started with 150 odd and is down to 20-30 ish. I have learnt a lot of amazing things while doing this and the cert four that I think I can pass on some of this life lessons to get the group started and help get people on the right financial path. My aim after that is to build some networks with a team of knowledgeable people in their fields, lawyers, accountants town planners etc who have a passion for property and may see sharing their knowledge as a two way street. I also would want to encourage people to present real deals they are working on to encourage and highlight the successes and pitfalls associated with property. I have found at different meetups and networking groups I have attended that there are some amazing older investors who are happy to share information with you but on the other hand there are alot of older people there who I put in the'group junkie' category in which they go from one to another hoping to find the get rich quick option with no effort or they are in the couda, shoulda, woulda mindset and not ready to take action. Many of the younger people I have met have already taken action to change their life and are usually action takers although occasionally frightened at such events due to their knowledge base. I want to create an event that they can come to feel comfortable but also push their comfort levels and also meet like minded people who they can inspire and be inspired by. While reading what I wrote this sounds like I am bagging anyone who is not 'young' this is far from what I am trying to get across all I am trying to provide it a forum for people to succeed in life.

Check out this link http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088763/ the booking process is quite complex and involves getting to 88miles per hour and generating 1.21 gigawatts. In all seriousness though this was one of his market updates LAST year. I think he is planning on having another one in october this year. If you are in Brisbane check out this group http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088763/ for young property investors. First meetup is this tuesday.

Hey Seb nice work on getting ahead now. I'm 26 have completed Steve's cert 4 in property investing and am saving hard for my first IP . Meetup is an awesome medium to find like minded people and create relationships to learn off. I have just started my own young investors meet up group in Brisbane with our first meeting next month ( 9 members and growing haha). I would suggest maybe working on something similar as you can just start it as a networking meet and greet then further it to have different people talking about their real deals or invite different speakers to present. Being the person to take action will put you in good standing with people.

Feel free to message me if you want any more information.

I was just reading in an investment mag while away on holiday this new (ish) site some stanford professors set up called https://www.coursera.org/. I had a look at it the other day and signed up for a couple. The best thing is the courses are free and run by some of the top uni's in the world. I have signed up for a couple in the business/finance side of things to try and complement my income accelerator and market knowledge I don't have the intention of submitting assignments but more listening to and reading the content. This would potentially be a good way to further skill yourself up without spending money I also think they said in the article they make money if you use them to find you work afterwards with the courses you complete. Worth a look at least.

Note this is note spam I have no affiliation with the site.

    Hey MjM2 ,

I am in my first year of investing study and have taken on the Cert 4 that Steve offers and find it has paid for itself 10x over with the knowledge I have learnt already. Its not overly complicated but covers so many things you wouldn't think about. If you have any questions about it please feel free to PM me.

Ps Got to hate the spelling Nazi . Really enjoy your posts Richard and others on this forum and it does annoy me when people come on and say things like that. Keep up the good work.
