if you are planning to use the property for owner-occupied purposes you can obtain 100% finance for a little higher than standard rates (without mortgage insurance). Mortgage hunter is correct when he said to stop paying extra on your bad debts.

Depends on how you see the market. Had a client buy in Batemenas Bay last year, it was not cheap, and some of the little cottages around Jervis Bay made their owners millionaires (or close to it )just after the Seachange TV series.

Think it might have already been picked over.

Thanks for your comments. the reason i have looked is i have done a fair bit of research on the area given its new found popularity (International airport, Far north QLD growth etc.) I looked even closer at a develpoment that is still ongoing but already a very successful section of units (The Lakes). Their is a develop. going on at the moment that has caught my eye….it is in the CBD & is being built by the same people who built the Lakes & it is under construction until 11/06. my idea is to exchange on this unit & @ todays price & put it back on the market for sale in approx. 18 months to give me enough time to find a buyer. does this sound tangible?? let me know, i’d love to hear some feedback.
