oh and ttman, is it just me or do others keep seeing an 'i' between those 't's?

  • Milly replied to the topic sick of greedy plumbers & electricians in the forum General Property 17 years, 2 months ago

Too many people here are hung up on IQ's. " tradies are just as smart as professionals neer neer neer". I realise that there is this academic snobbery happening in this country that encourages us to push our kids to uni. Bottom line is if you are the academic kind it is expected you will go to uni, if not, you will look at alternatives such as…[Read more]

hehe. I thought the same mackar Tis a good idea tho. Certainly cheaper and more convenient than renting a motel for a week with the family.  I don't know much about  portable loos tho and am not sure I want to. I haven't got over Kenny saying  you can't wear rubber gloves to fish for the dropped ring.

Nikko7 states: Create a relation ship with your tradesmen, they are people, pay them on time show them respect and they will look after you.( maybe a beer or 2 wouldn't hurt either ) And they can become a very important member of your investing team But I shouldn't HAVE to create a relationship with these guys.  I shouldn't have to buy them a…[Read more]

  • Milly replied to the topic Does anyone deal directly with tenant instead of through RE Agent? in the forum General Property 17 years, 3 months ago

it might be worth subscribing to http://www.thelandlord.com.au. I manage some of my properties and this site provides the documents relevent to your state regarding tennancy and communications with tennants. I'm a bit of a soft touch so I'm a sucker for a hardluck story. This has cost me money at times. So be professional and don't get too chummy. Just…[Read more]

  • Milly replied to the topic sick of greedy plumbers & electricians in the forum General Property 17 years, 3 months ago

Gees some ppl need to lighten up. The fact is that there ARE disreputable tradespeople as in other industries. I'm all for a site that recommends good work for reasonable rates. Speaking of quality, my son and I saw a doctor today (not our usual cos he was booked out) and he saw us both in 5mins.  A quick look at the infection in my son's ear,…[Read more]

  • Milly replied to the topic Very honest Real Estate Agent!!!!!! in the forum Opinionated! 17 years, 3 months ago

I don't think any honest person would even consider spending it.  11 million is going to be noticed at some stage.  But even if it were a paltry amount.  I don't think there would be many people who wouldn't point out  when a salesman had undercharged them. Bad karma and all that.. Plus it is important to teach our children to do the right thi…[Read more]

  • Milly replied to the topic What is everyones issue with Jenman? in the forum Heads Up! 17 years, 4 months ago

Yeah I'm afraid that smug self-righteous attitude of his gets up my nose. I think he just likes to get on telly these days.  I do not believe that Jenman real estate agents are more or less honest than any other group.  Call me a cynic but I reckon the 'honest jenman agent's" is just another marketing tool to get you to use his agents. Ok I g…[Read more]

Cant recall how much.  It's the car you dont want to park next to cos ya just know the owner wont care about scratches. my dream car would be a ute…..to put all my goodies that i collect from garage sa…[Read more]

  • Milly replied to the topic property resourcers – “cashflow capital” in the forum Help Needed! 17 years, 4 months ago

I get their emails and to be frank  the houses are only cashflow +  because of the deposit you put down. And of course any house will be CF+ with enough deposit.  Also many of the houses are west of the black stump so litttle likely growth.  I havent used them so perhaps you can find a gem but if you have the time, as tracy says 'tis best to do…[Read more]

  • Milly replied to the topic Nightmare subdivision!! in the forum General Property 17 years, 4 months ago

Yes it's a terrible sstory  you tell Amanda and certainly not an isolated case.  Ive always been nervous at the thought of building a house…let alone a housing development. Listening to Anna Bligh on 4QR the other day  saying how  the state govt was going to fast track the release of land in SEQ and assist developers thro the council red…[Read more]

lol lisa.  I know how you feel. You've well and truly got the realestate bug.  It's so exciting AND frustrating.. I'm in the waiting game at the moment also. I have 5 IPs and my PPOR that I'm in the process of renovating to free up more equity. Certainly  see what you can do in the way of improvements to increase equity, but sometimes we just ha…[Read more]

Thanks a lot for that Michael. I'll be there. I realise seminar/exhibitions like this have a bias toward buying of property. API mag, brokers, financiers, reno kings, even the caboolture shire council has an agenda if they want to encourage investors to purchase houses for the many renters. I wonder if Foundation should give his doomsday …[Read more]

sheesh I just did the 05/06 tax return. I'm aiming to get the next one in earlier. wanna bet opportunity? There's been talk of a railway for a hundred years. There was talk of a station at rothwell linking to the caboolture line.  There was some talk of a monorail across to brighton. ANdrew Bartlett quote: The railway to Redcliffe – a city on Moreton Bay on a peninsula just north of Brisbane – was first proposed around the…[Read more]
