    Gday,
    I use a guy called Chris Giddens of Tristram law centre. He was referred to me by a few other people and is supposedly very good. I have only just started with him, and so far he has been good.

    His contact details are:
    027 231 6970

    He is based in Hamilton.

    Good luck

    hello KA2 people. Hope all is well. Was just wondering what you guys were doing in regards to finance. do you plan on getting pre-approval before you go over? If so, does anyone have some good contacts to deal with (i’m in Victoria).

    Was also wanting to gague some interest into a possible meeting for KA2 people (or anyone else who would like to come along) perhaps in the next week or so. There was a meeting at Knox several weeks ago which i believe was a reasonable place to meet for most. Perhaps this Friday evening? Please post if you would be interested in this or feel free to offer an alternative.

    Have fun all,

    Millsy

    Glad to hear the meeting went well. I actually came in the door friday night and saw that the meeting was on. Rushed down to knox but unfortunately didnt recognize anyone with a black folder (or something like that) hanging around borders or coffee club etc!!!

    see you guys on the thread and look forward to the next meeting. hope all is well,

    Hi,
    Best to get approval. I have a relative adding bedrooms to PPOR and told me of something i had never thought of; because he went from 3 to 4 BR he would have needed to add an extra car space to his block. Because space is tight, that would have meant ripping out half of his garden, making the place look quite ugly. The added value with the room would have been counter-acted by having no front garden.

    Always best to check.

    Hi,
    Im in a similar position to you. I have read the books and have now attended two masterclasses. I am finding that the hardest step is the fisrt one.

    I have asked the same question as you on the forum board. Someone said to me that you need to begin by finding your niche area. Do you fancy yourself someone who is useful with your hands. If so, you can buy a property with problems at a reduced price and add value to it. You can then use the added value as a deposit for your next one.

    If you don’t fancy that strategy, you can look at buying a property with a big block, subdivide the block and sell it, using the profits for a deposit on your next one.

    If you don’t have much money to spend at the moment, you could rent a house next to a university and sublet each room to uni students. This way, all you would need to do is come up with the bond to rent.

    There are many ways to make money in property. Two quotes stick out in my mind which sum up the business of property investing which Steve uses;
    Problem + Solution = Profit,
    and particularly for you (and I) in your situation;
    Action + Reaction = Momentum.
    The latter is definately pertinent to your situation and will hold you in good stead. Take the plunge and try something, it is all good experience.
    Good luck,
    Millsy

    Gday Peter,
    I’m from Victoria. Where are you from? How did you find the experience? Do you have any tips of any description you could offer?
    Cheers,

    you can get into blackburn, mitcham, nice places in north ringwood and also vermont etc with that sort of money. I believe that they are solid areas, 15 mins from town in the next couple of years once freeway completed. not bad hey!
